Nick’s Kicks 4 Kids Takes It To The Streets

The Running Room, Nick’s Kicks 4 Kids and Carmen’s have teamed up to help the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton.

You can help Nick’s Kicks for Kids, Tiger-Cats kicker Nick Setta’s community initiative that helps provide footwear for underprivileged children, by walking or running with Setta and Running Room founder John Stanton on Wednesday, October 21.

You are invited to join 'Nick’s Kicks 4 Kids Takes It To The Streets' on October 21 at 6:30 p.m., at the new Running Room in Stoney Creek (Unit 4005, 1791 Stone Church Rd East.). Participants are encouraged to dress to run/ walk 2.5 or 5km outdoors. Participation is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

John Stanton’s appearance in Stoney Creek will be the first time that he has been in the Hamilton area since releasing his fifth book, Walking: A Complete Guide to Walking for Fitness, Health and Weight Loss, which was released last month by Penguin and has already gone to a second printing.

All funds raised at the event will benefit the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton. United Way is the largest funder of social and health related services in the cities of Burlington and Hamilton. Through strong partnerships United Way finds real solutions for today’s toughest community issues. In 2008, United Way invested over $4.9 million in more than 134 programs, projects and community initiatives.
