Nice profile on McPherson

“I think I’ve matured since [my time at FSU],? said McPherson. “I’ve grown as a person and I have a daughter and that’s pretty much changed my whole world. Everything I do, I think about her. I put her first and I just want her to have a better life.?

I’m impressed by Adrian’s maturity. I think his time as our starter is coming within the next two years.

Good article.

As he is the heir apparent, let's hope he can be integrated, whith increasing game experience, to ensure a smooth takeover. I don't know how often that may be this season, as AC wants to lead his team to another GC appearance and, of course, there are all those records.... AC is definitely a team player but he knows his time is short and I'm sure he would like to leave in a blaze of glory. Something tells me that if AC has the year we (and he!) all hope he will (i.e. with a load of records that may never be broken), he may just pull the plug at the end of the year. I don't know that for sure; I am just speculating.

While we only saw AD briefly in pre-season action, I was impressed with his pocket presence and rocket of an arm. He can still be dangerous on the ground with his scrambling ability. So, he appears to have all of the makings of an outstanding starter.

I find that versusquebeq is an excellent sports website- a french to english translation is available for those of us who are not french speaking.

A lot will depend on the continuity of the coaching staff in MOntreal. The risk for Adrian is that when Calvillo retires, Coach Trestman and Milanovich move on. That could be a problem, but if we these guys stay well then he will be in the drivers seat, being in a system that he’s worked in for years. If Adrian took over today I think the Als are still a competitive team, a 10 win team and wthin 2 years, they are as dominant.

I doubt that will be a problem
Trestman may well move on in time
But Milanovich looks to be around for his succession
I’m sure Scott will make an excellent head coach when his time comes
And having your OC become HC as you become the starting QB seems like the ideal situation

Milanovich raves about McPherson, an encouraging sign. The coaches wouldn’t have put this much work into Adrian if they didn’t feel he could be the successor to Calvillo.

“Physically he’s got everything: He’s got a huge arm, he’s got the athletic ability to be a running quarterback and he’s got the physical stature to be a pocket passer,? said Milanovich. “He’s one of the few guys that has the potential to do it all.?
Gee....why does this sound so familiar?

We all know it , it’s kind of obvious… and he will be the starting QB for Montreal for many years providing he stays healthy.

There’s the rub…no doubt
He could easily go the way of Casey Printers
A great running QB who got torn down…hit by hit

What will be McPherson’s saving grace is his arm
Printers never had a cannon like this

I can see McPherson…with a bit more seasoning
And of course…once he gets regular playing time
Ransacking this league with his passing skills
And then picking his spots with his running ability

I still maintain (and it appears Milanovich may agree with me)
That McPherson could turn out to be
The most dominant quarterback this league has ever known
The Randall Cunningham of the CFL

If he stays healthy
(and gets a chance to play)

Just doing a little googling
Came upon another McPherson article:

And an Adrian McPherson thread:
That sort of devolves into the usual racist drivel

An interesting little article on African-American quarterbacks in the CFL:
