NFL Week 13 Game Watch Thread 3-4 Dec 2023

It’s another day of fun NFL action with all the drama, real or manufactured, and hot takes of course.

Here in Philadelphia, it’s yet another rainy Sunday.

I’ll take it over snow and ice right now, though many who enjoy standing out in the damn cold and singing songs will disagree and will even fight you over such a view in this time of alleged good cheer.

Anyway, we’ll have good cheer watching these games today and maybe even Monday night at the very least, so grab your hot food and strong drink and please enjoy again.

I thought it was always sunny in Philadelphia.

Man Pittsburgh actually is the worst 7-4 team I’ve ever seen. @Jon

Watching the Lions-Saints game. The announcer must get a dollar for every time he says “the Jameis Winston experience.”

You are correct, as was I, that these Steelers are shameful FRAUDS.

Now this was most confusing until I looked it up just now.

I’m driving into work, and I tune into the game to hear it is delayed by weather.

Okay, “It’s Pittsburgh, it’s December, so why?”, I am thinking. It’s cold and it is raining, so what?

The answer is lightning. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I’m going to argue all the more as I have been saying for a few years.

November is the new April.
December is the new March.
March is the new December.

Fix the damn calendar too already!

Damnit Hurts, all that time to throw due to great protection, quit prancing around back there like that.

Run it up or throw it away. You look like a bojack tap dancing around on the turf like that.

I was thrilled to learn of the Lions winning, especially after watching them dominate for the first half.

These are two teams with spectacular and legendary records of pooping the bed, including especially after building large leads. They remain exceptionally capable in these regards, and today they met.

Great job today there Lions.

Niners can’t block Philly.

Talking heads may be looking really bad tomorrow.

Pssst …Philadelphia punt returner Britain Covey …it’s wet today, so the kick coverage favours the kicking team.

A fair catch and immediate possession are just fine early in the game today.

Woeful defense by Philadelphia on that touchdown drive by the 49ers - get back to the bench and study your asses off on those tablets guys.

At 21-0, I conked out. I woke up and the Lions gave up 21! I was like, “here we go again.”
Glad to see them hold on.

And those Cardinals, who play indoors in the desert, defeat the Steelers, who in December play outdoors when it is cold and wet.

And the Steelers even had two extra breaks to work on things and catch up!
:unamused:

SCREW YOU PITTSBURGH STEELERS YOU FRAUDS! Just lose for the rest of the season!

Wow 3rd and 19 Eagles deep in their own end, sounds like a good time for a tricky quick-kick, but nope Devante Smith catches and runs for the first down!

Wow! It’s hard to see what is coming in this game already!

I don’t think Shanahan believes they can run against this front 7 so the short and play action game will continue.

Niners took a couple shots early but have settled in a bit. Need to block that front 4 better.

SF has it going now.

Philly secondary is vulnerable and they just need to give Purdy a couple seconds and he’s finding the open man.

The boo birds are justified. The Eagles have much to shore up at halftime. They are playing carelessly against the best team they have faced all season.

The Eagles could lose this game on poor tackling alone before all the rest that has fallen apart all day.

Not sure how people can not be bought in on Brock Purdy at this point but cool.

If he was drafted top 10 they’d be comparing him to Mahommes.

Oh no doubt there are those in the media who are in that establishment clique with the NCAA Pro Football crap (see update in that thread), including this doofus announcer Greg Olsen during this game who is also a Carolina Panthers homer, who will go on and on to defend the likes of Bryce Young as even the owner is now concerned about protecting his losing butt for next season.
