But seriously, @mahalcflers and I have been working long distance and checking each other. It is easy to make mistakes. He asked me to check his totals but due to a long work day I haven’t got the energy or awake time left to do it tonight. I spent last night on the CFL standings when normally I would have checked these.
I don’t know if there are any errors, but if there are we will fix them. GG has cited one she believes may apply to her and if anyone notices any others please let us know.
i don’t know if there are errors, i just don’t understand how the numbers are arrived at. i get the +1 for a win and -1 for a loss now. but i’m confused on how they are being tallied overall and i can’t get any number like what my current standings say.
Hi Jon and Mahal. I may have detected some errors, probably as they pertain to me. I went 4 - 2, and was 16 -10 last week. I should be at 20 - 12. You may have swirched mine and USCDave's totals. Sorry, Dave.
I sent you a PM. The aggregate isn’t calculated the way you think. You were 3-3 last week so your 8-11 total is correct as you were 5-8 the week before.
Thanks for the correction. That also makes sense in the context of the “ tie goes to the Canadian” rule.
@mahalcflers and I have started truly alternating so he posted this week’s standings and if he agrees with you I am sure he will make the correction which I cannot do to his post, even though I recall winning the “moderator for a day” contest.
i’m building a spreadsheet and i’m going to start at week 1 for a few of the member players. i’m still figuring out the point spread part (+ 5 or -5?).
sorry i wasn’t meaning to cast doubt on your guys’ calcs, i just didn’t understand how the pool was being scored and tallied.
Just so you all know there will be a few adjustments to this week’s standings that Mahal will make when he gets a chance. GGirl is also working on a program that will automate the standings.
In any event last week was a tough one for most given the upsets. I think the worst overall record of any week so far. Mahal is now the bad cop. 15 people picked Green Bay wrong (out of 20), 13 Baltimore, 11 (plus an abstention) Arizona, 10 New Orleans, 9 Dallas and 8 KC.
Two people went 0-6. No one went 5-1 but USCDave, Mahal and Arnie all were 4-2.
But the game ball goes to AYC who went an incredible 6-0! Him and I often pick the same and I am very disappointed that I did not follow his lead this past week. Congrats.
