NFL Playoff Pool 2024- Divisional Round Picks and Results

I will post this early so everyone has plenty of time to make their picks. This is the final round where a perfect week can be had with 4 games on tap.

Ripe for the picking are:

Saturday

Houston at Baltimore 3:30
Green Bay at San Francisco 7:15

Sunday

Tampa at Detroit 2:00
Kansas City at Buffalo 5:30

All times Central.

It’s too early and I don’t have time for the odds, but someone can post them if they wish or I can do so later.

For those unaware it is customary to have a thread for each round. I will post the standings in the Wildcard Round thread within 24 hours.

Good luck to all.

:ravens: just too good of a team
:packers: I need to make up some ground and the Pack can beat the best when they’re on their game. Unfortunately.

:ravens: (Ravens are gonna win it all)
:packers: (Upset pick #1)
:bucs: (Upset pick #2)
:bills: (FWIW I dont think they’ll win but I need the upset to happen lol)

Of the 16 possible Super Bowl matchups:

4 would be rematches

10 would include at least one team that has never won it

2 would include two teams that have never won it

7 would include at least one team that has never played in a Super Bowl

1 would include two teams that have never played in a Super Bowl

On Saturday either we have surprisingly close games or yet another day of blowouts.

Sunday looks more likely to have closer games.

I am also happy that they are starting both games EARLIER on Sunday.

Unless perhaps both teams playing are from the Pacific Time Zone, there’s no good reason for any games to end well after 11PM ET on a Sunday in January.

But you know how it is with the playoffs, when the most likely is not what actually happens.

Your only one game behind the leaders so you’re still in contention, but don’t screw up
this round.

Will try not to.

The pressure is on.

Unfortunately I have to make up some ground and will have to take a chance on one of these picks.

:ravens: Baltimore. I would love for CJ Stroud and Nico Collins to light it up but hard to predict this as an upset when Baltimore’s pressure rate and pass defense are top notch.

:packers: Green Bay. Aaron Jones and Jordan Love’s pocket presence give them a fighting chance. This is the upset I’m banking on to make up some ground.

:detlions: Detroit. Baker is going to realize quickly that not all defenses tackle only with their arms.

:chiefs: Kansas City. Is there any doubt that once the playoff lights turn on that it’s just another gear for Mahommes. This will be a track meet but Josh will make that critical error at some point.

Thanks Jon!
