Theo Benedet signed to Bear’s practice roster
Do they? I’ve never heard of that.
As far as I know it’s first come first serve for NFL cuts
Yes because there were other players better than him.
No there is not. He made that one up too.
Sorry, that’s not how it works, but maybe some other virtual league or another one of your fantasy leagues or trash hub leagues has this framework.
Yes. I saw that one coming with Betts. It is good for the Lions. Their pass rush is not too great right now. He has virtually zero learning curve so guys who play such positions can be integrated into the system pretty fast.
Good news is he goes from one Lions team to another Lions team. The CFL wins
Yuck. That creates a bidding war for player talent within the CFL itself.
Matt Betts had a sheepish look on his face last nite. Yes, nice to be back in BC where you’re a beloved member of a CFL clown troupe - but Betts was chasing money, pension & NFL fame. Just not quite big and strong enough to endure massive NFL o-line pass blockers - - - but in the CFL he’s a MONSTER. No shame in not being big or strong enough. Betts will be a CFL lifer now to be sure.
Unsure about Rourke - if he goes crazy again and leads BC to an all-world home Grey Cup W, the odd batship crazy NFL GM might come a sniffin’ again to try and re-roster the guy before he turns 28 (he’s 26 now, maybe 27). Guys like Streveler & MBT have reached their absolute best befores - NFL doesn’t even want Streveler as a sideline sammy, an insurance policy.
Rourke may still be seen as a potential saviour down south.
Amazing that guys like Dave Dick & Ricky Ray got more NFL looks than peeps like AC Calvillo, Collaros, Gunner Harris, Vernon Adams, etc.
The one CFL pivot who might still get an NFL call - either this or next off-season is Tre Ford. You can’t teach speed, endurance & agility. Ford also has a darn good arm.
I don’t believe his style of play is sustainable in the NFl, but who knows.
We’ve seen him play one and a half games this year.
And he never went to an NCAA schools just the CIS, which doesn’t look good on a resume
I doubt he would get an try out, NFL teams would look at their QB draft picks first coming out of the NCAA and then the UFL QBs
Are teams bound to a salary cap for the next say, two weeks in order to sign recently cut NFL players? Will there be wholesale roster changes (I don’t know, like 50% of the players released) to get the best team possible at this time?
Ah, the little known two week salary cap holiday! No doubt teams will be overturning 50-75% of their roster as they come down the stretch. Some might think that disruptive, but at this stage of the season teams are known to buy Jello in bulk to ensure that all of the many new additions gel. They also are all forging passports to ensure that the incoming horde of American players go undetected. Or so I think might be the case. I didn’t bother to google a couple of things before posting to make sure what I said had some semblance of accuracy.
I was asking
Yes. And no to your second questions and also to the rest that you made up also in this thread.
Alternatively, you can simply go to 3DownNation or read the new system posts on the main page here on the forum for the latest news on signings.
If that does not work out for you, maybe just forget it and just go to Facebook or Reddit to meet some new friends and make crap up there.
NFL is all business, big Corporations. They invest heavily in their draft. Lots of ego, reputation and money is tied up in a QB draft. Ford has no cost and no investment, so, thus no way on to a NFL roster. Their investment in the draft will always be given more opportunities than necessary.
Hold on, big guy. Meanness is not needed, especially for Eskies logo. Let’s relaxxxx, have a beer on me
Cheers, but don’t defend such consistent nonsense from that bojack for years now or if you do, stand over there for a bit until you perhaps grow weary of it too.
