And here’s the game thread.
See you all here tonight if you are watching.
Now you all be careful out there today to dodge all the hot takes circling around especially since last night after a few days of people blathering about their fantasy pools and their hot gambling advice and takes like every year early in the season.
The NFL on cable TV sports channels and sports radio are generally a NO today before the game.
Hopefully it’s a good game that lives up to the match-up too.
Now for a word of caution for all viewers.
If you are a fan of the Chiefs or general public fanfare that does not involve actual play, you can skip this part.
If you are a fan of the Ravens, you definitely want to read this part. You are welcome.
Every season in the home opener there is of course the natural homer fanfare for the home team, which includes a pregame worship session of sorts that involves the Super Bowl trophy and banners and the like.
Tonight some of you might be blessed enough to see a shot of Andy Reid just as he is chomping into a fully-loaded pre-game double cheeseburger in fact, and well, good for him, but we can’t all be so blessed you know.
I don’t even like this crap for my own team for a season opener, for it feels pretentious now that a new season has started and every team has to earn a slot in the playoffs from the beginning. Save the shows for halftime and get on with the game, damnit.
Anyway, the game is delayed by this worship session as covered for years now by NBC, so if you are not into these too with also a blabbering and glib Mike Tirico with the usually over-explaining Cris Collinsworth as if this show were also an homage to those damn Olympic ceremonies, you can skip this part until the teams actually kickoff!
If they have an actual flyover, that would be cool though.
