NFL beating CFL in TV ratings

Actually ironic. TSN is doing to the CFL what the CFL did to WADA. Ignore their interests and do as they please

That is possibly the most idiotic comment I have ever read on this site. I understand you have a personal ax to grind, but to make a comment like this makes me think you're desperate for attention. Go hide under your bridge, troll.

I have to agree. Dumbest post of the year.

Really ? The “Troll” meme is the best you got ? CFL would like to have their interests heard in regards to how their product is being displayed/used and you don’t see the parallel with what Doctor Ayotte was asking for ?

Won’t even talk about the fact that TSN pays for the rights ALL OF THEM. English , French, US, Digital.

Oh well…

Bob why take atleast some Games back to CBC when TSN Contract Ends.

How do you compare a 9 Billion dollar league to the CFL?

I like Both Leagues

It take Difference in Skill sets to play CFL vs NFL

Some players are luck and can do both

There room for both .

In the list above, the stats for hockey and NFL include multiple games under the same count. Why is that? What if each game was taken separately? I'm sure no one watched 3 hockey games or 2 NFL games at once.

I think it’s because it’s one time slot.

It makes sense for the NFL games because it’s all on one network split regionally.
But with the NHL games it’s 4 separate national networks and shouldn’t be counted all together.

Well both playoff games feature teams of the biggest markets in Canada. Golden Horseshoe BC and Calgary.

If the ratings arent good on sunday than Houston we have a problem

Must be. But, then, as with statistics, they could be interpreted differently. The CFL game could be described as the “most watched game of the week”, no? In other words, more people watched the Ticat RB game than any other game? That would be right, I think.

Don't know why the first response didn't include my message, oh well.
Here in the States the NFL afternoon games are shown on FOX and CBS networks. The Sunday night game is on NBC, Monday night on ESPN and Thursday night on NFL Network channel.
Thousands of fans watch the NFL and NCAA games in Sports Lounges across the country with most Lounges showing every NFL Sunday game thru DirecTV Sunday Ticket.
The Lounge I'm in right now has 28 TVs with NASCAR on three and 25 with NCAA games. There are over 100 people in the Lounge now.

Sure. That’s one perspective. A fan’s perspective.

A TV network perspective is all about how many viewers are watching their network at any given time.

So, if CTV has more viewers than TSN at the Sunday 1pm slot, then CTV would have higher ratings as a network

( I know CTV and TSN are both Bell companies)

National ratings are for national advertisers to establish ad rates. So when Canadian Tire buys an ad slot for the first break in action in the first period on the program Hockey Night in Canada - that one commercial plays in that break in action on every game - the one on CBC, the one on CITY, the one on Sportsnet etc.

That is why the ratings for ‘Hockey Night in Canada’ are reported that way because it identifies how many people are watching the program Hockey Night In Canada for which the advertiser purchased an ad on.
