Take the home teams
And an 18 play opening drive by Washington results in 3 points. Philly follows with a one play 60 yard run where Barkley was barely touched. Yuk. My sister could have scored that Td. Total breakdown in defensive schemes. 7-3 Eaglets.
Yes he was; just that Washington couldnât tackle. Poor defence.
Washington opening drive 7:03 min. = FG
Philadelphia opening play 60 yd. run = TD
14-3 now Eagles have hardly broken a sweat
Washington fumbles. Wonât win doing that.
Philly catches a break as a nice completion that wasnât counts. Washington asleep at the wheel on the challenge.
After a magnifying glance, kind of looked it over = catch stands as called.
Yeah they ran the play quick. You could see from the first angle that the right front of his right foot came down on the white paint. But no matter.
Love the ballsy fake punt by Washington which ended up getting them 3. Now 14-6.
I could sure go for a Philly cheesesteak about now.
And Elliot up to his old tricks. This time wide right from 54.
Still lots of tough football to go, at halftime
Washington 15
Philadelphia 27
Yup. But the reason Washington is behind was the one thing that kept me from changing my pick this week.
Teams who are ârookiesâ in big games make mistakes. They cant take penalties and they canât turn the ball over. Because its too hard to make up for those mistakes.
I have it Philly 14 Refs 13 Washington 15.
Before anyone gets too excited, I have a great dislike for both teams and therefore am not biased, but the officiating advantage Philly has had in the playoffs, starting with their non fumble recovery against Green Bay, is mind boggling.
In the first half:
catch to Brown on 2nd down on the first drive was OB. Unknown what would have happened but Philly could have been limited to 3 or 0 points instead of a TD.
4th down completion to Brown should have been negated by obvious Barkley holding penalty and that likely would have led to zero points as a FG attempt would have come from long range and Elliot is iffy from any range. Free 7 points here.
Wash stops Philly and would have limited them to a FG on their last drive of the half but called for a late hit OB a millisecond after stepping OB. What was the defender supposed to do? Let him go and let him cut back inside? Those types of hits are almost always let go. Changed a FG attempt to a first down and ultimately a TD.
At least the refs could have awarded the obvious Philly fumble recovery to Washington in partial make up. I thought they might for a minute. A reverse Green Bay if you will.
Philly MVP is their team photographer, who obviously has been very busy snapping pictures of every officiating crew with goats.
Despite their two stupid turnovers Washington should be close to tied.
Amidst much else though you did get a few things right, you forgot that rightfully-called foolish pass interference by the Commanders in the end zone that put the Eagles at the one-yard line that put the Eagles up 20 to 12 (then in my view they foolishly went for two due to the unsportsmanlike penalty by Lattimore, who committed the pass interference and had lost his head, but the attempt failed), and thus made for much of the lead.
Your haterade for the Eagles remains quite thick and I get it there Cowboy, but hey at least you are staying on brand.
holy shite
commanders D with the arm tackling clinic there
hahaha
I hate both teams Paolo. So no bias. Your pro Eagle bias remains on brand. I notice you donât actually address the plays but rather I hear more âGo Eagles Goâ.
If I remember correctly the play you refer to in the end zone would never have happened if the refs hadnât blown the call earlier that drive.
Yes, Pereira was right on that front they missed it, but that was done, but then YOU forgot to mention that pass interference in turn in your supposed unbiased overview, that it is not.
Yes I am an Eagles fan, but thatâs not new information.
Carry on Cowboy.
Carry on Eaglet.
