Pre-Season Football - LA Chargers vs Detroit
I will be flipping in and out of this game til the other one is done
Two of my fav teams but alas, not many starters.
some nice plays non the less. Good looking INT by chargers
LA Chargers over Detroit 34-7
Well I’m not going to watch Tampa Bay games anymore. They are dead to me ![]()
And Tua has the opposite view:
If you read the articles the whole thing is pretty hilarious. No one knows what the job entails and none of the appointees were contacted before being named. Plus there is no more meaningless job in the world than being an “advisor” to Trump. No different than a mafia loading dock no show job.
The career of a football punter, especially when you’re an aspiring player, must be very stressful. Jake already had a place on the team, and they decided to give his spot to a retired QB who may see very little action. Anyway, I hope he gets another chance because the guy is very good.
and I wish the worst for TB
Tomorrow three pre-season games are on tap,
Colts/Ravens, Bengals/Eagles, Raiders/Seattle
today is wednesday already?? ![]()
Yep. I plan to do so tomorrow and will ping everyone.
Here’s one tracker for the cuts, which the Patriots and the Giants have already begun after their game on Thursday night:
Only four farts of games remain in the preseason now for tonight.
Over a thousand players will be cut by Tuesday 4PM ET, but many will be finding their way on to some practice roster over the holiday weekend.
The cuts have begun to mount here on Sunday evening, with the Browns, Patriots, Jets and Steelers amongst those moving earlier all the more.
Here are two of the more notable veteran receivers under age 30 who have been cut.
Unless their game or health is totally off, these two should find quick work elsewhere:
Here’s a better tracker:
Cut at age 29, time to make up your mind, do you want to earn the right to play and to start somewhere else or not?
McLaurin signs which leaves only two disgruntled superstars in Micah Parsons and Trey Hendrickson.
Another article on the complicated Jerry Jones, both the most financially successful sports owner in history while at the same time meddling in his team’s personnel to the point that they can’t win.
Maybe some more cuts en masse will be announced tonight, but with 24 hours until the deadline, it looks like we have a divide between the teams that had made such decisions by Sunday, and the rest who are going to trade horses and fart around today before making final decisions by Tuesday 4PM ET.
For @BetweenTheGoalposts and his radar station, three punters were released today, along with a few other players listed anew.
Now two of these punters have creepstaches, and one of them is Australian and also appears to be trying very hard to grow one but is coming up short, so we are on brand again as well.
In addition, veteran long snapper Jake McQuaide was released at age 37 after 15 years of experience in the NFL. I figure he’ll find other NFL work, not only because he has a full lumberjack beard too.
The quarterback situation with the 49ers has become rather interesting.
Brock Purdy, Mr. Irrelevant as the last pick of the 2022 NFL draft with quite the rookie season followed by a recovery from serious injury, remains the solid starter.
Then there is journeyman Mac Jones.
And then, well there is Kurtis Rourke, who is also injured and listed as inactive.
Here’s the kicker though. The 49ers have cut THREE quarterbacks from the preseason so as to get here, so Kurtis Rourke made at least that cut!
Even so, some other experienced quarterbacks have been cut such as Bailey Zappe, Tyler Huntley, and
Joe Pesci , so here we go again perhaps with the quarterback carousel.
They are good at 3Down. They even scooped the NFL site.
Bomber fans aren’t disappointed that Elgersma got waived, although that doesn’t mean he won’t be trying to stick on a practice roster somewhere.
It’s still the same way it has always been with a solid (Elgersma) and spectacular (Streveler) pre season guaranteeing nothing and not leading to a move up the ladder in the pecking order.
