New training facility for the Als

During an interview with Jim Popp last evening on RDS, he mentioned that the Alouettes will have a new training facility next season. Two sites are under consideration, one in Laval and the other in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. The Als would build new offices on the site. A decision is to be made in December.

Why 2?

1of 2 choices/finalists. Either Laval or Dollard-des Ormeaux.

I read construction

Why can't they get land from the City and build it in Montreal instead of going off center like that ?

I believe that the 2 locations being considered already have fields with artificial turf.

Well, FWIW the Habs' state-of-the-art training facilities are way out there in Brossard.

Cost of land, not much left in the city of Mtl proper, cost of taxes, and promoter using it to tie in with projects, like dix 30 for the Habs training facility

Moving to a permanent training facility would be nice and if they provide some kind of housing near by for the athletes it's even better (just like the Impact is doing with some of their players).

They've been all over the place in the last year to train:

St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu for TC
Soccerplexe Catalogna in Lachine
Bell Sports Complex in Brossard
Concordia U Football field
Big O (Inside & Outside facility)...and even McGill if I'm not mistaken.

Sticking to 1 training facility will be better for everyone.
