This is awesome because in my search for alternative viewing methods, they don’t put anything on the vast and excellent CBS Sports website, which also has links to live CBS Sports coverage.
But hey it’s only season two, and this is clearly a fine step forward.
They even mixed the CBS logo with the maple leaf with the CFL logo!
It’s a great picture on CFL+ this season too!
With Paramount Global, the owner of CBS, in play now for acquisition perhaps by January 2025 for closing of any deal, here’s an even bigger picture to consider for the sake of CFL live game exposure in the US.
Well folks, nothing doing yet on those talks to buy Paramount Global and CBS, so I figure we’ll probably not hear about any new owner for a good while.
I think we’ll be just fine with CBS for 2025 and then who knows for the rest of the deal in 2026 and beyond.
US and Other International TV Schedule 13 June 2024 Through 11 August 2024
CBS Sports Network, CFL+, Pirate Sports Network
In the US now through 11 August, CFL games on Saturday and Sunday in the US will be on CBS Sports Network and Pirate Sports Network, except for Friday 4 August.
All other games in the US, and all games aired otherwise internationally, are on CFL+.
Enjoy CFL action once again on your improved TV set-up too!
Wow. I’ve never heard or seen this in my life, and well, that was better before now.
I’m going to say that is THE WORST game intro song I’ve ever heard.
Is anybody on this forum in the US enjoying these games on CBS Sports Network?
How is the coverage compared to in 2023, including the quality of the ads?
I’m not sure how many here still have a cable TV subscription.
Thankfully we have CFL+ and Pirate Sports Network too.
There were many more ads last night on Friday Night Football on CFL+, so they are making more improvements.
For a great game, CFL+ worked great again and has always been FREE, unlike many of those apps.
If you are stuck on ESPN or ESPN+, you are missing out for sure, so fix your TV and devices and watch on CFL+.
It’s been over a year already, so no excuses don’t blame the CFL, it’s YOUR issue with your devices to fix or not for all your viewing without apps nowadays, which is increasing because very few want any more apps, subscriptions, loading the app every time you watch it, downloads of upgrades, et cetera when they can simply flip a channel or go to a website and watch for FREE.
There have been some thrilling games for CBS to cover .
Indeed, unlike last year, where beginning of year games were predictable and sometimes unwatchable…the CFL is of to a great start.
FREE CFL+ continues to change up the ads with a great picture and resolution too.
I hope those of you watching, in the United States, on CBS Sports Network are having a good experience and with your cable company as well, especially in these inflationary times with generally crappy customer service all around.
Pirate Sports Network will be asail this weekend to help any of you with your CFL viewing needs. We’re on a charter of human rights too you know. Arrrgghh.
For those having trouble with your TV, how long have you had to fix your damn TV anyway? I know the feeling, for I had to fix my damn TV three times last autumn.
Work on that tonight and quit screwing around again if you have not already, for the big show is waiting for you again this season for FREE and with zero need to download any app and a very short subscription form for FREE CFL+!
The CFL deal with CBS could change in 2025, depending on how the contract was written or even if contractually intact, in effect, if the games are to continue to be delivered in the US via CBS Sports Network through 2026.
Or maybe they can do a bigger and better deal?
Well, the CFL deal via CBS in the US should be at least as good through the 2025 season, given that the acquisition of Paramount Global is going to likely take at least through 1H2025 for completion.
It would be great if there is an extension announced next summer that would extend not only the current agreement beyond 2026, but also expand the CFL offerings via the new company as owned by Skydance.
If CBS can do a deal with the Arena Football League recently as announced last week as noted in that thread, there can be more to do with the CFL.
