I’m not one to know, but I don’t see CBS Sports doing much for new initiatives for leagues and sports that are less popular amongst those offered.
The reason is that the 2025 budget is the last one that involves heavy influence by current ownership, for the acquisition of Paramount Global by Skydance remains in the works and pending into much of 2025:
Now for 2026 when the current CFL deal expires, we shall see, and I would bet on CBS hanging onto the CFL and other live sports rights unless they were to be outbid, which I’m not seeing at all from its broadcast competitors for the sake of the CFL.
