New Nickname for KG...

The Mailman!

Why?

Because he has a tendency of mailing in games. Last night was yet another example.

It's just so unfortunate that there's nothing else out there. Glenn is what we've got. He's got the ability to play some games well (and he does) but I have come to realize that as long as he's our starting QB we are not going to win a Championship. It's just not going to happen. As he gets older he gets more and more predictable and his best years are already behind him so it's not like he's going to improve.

So with that being said...

Do we stick with Glenn and continue with 9-9 seasons (9-10 if you count playoffs) and continue to beat our heads off the wall as we continue to lose winnable games - OR - do we try to find some new young QB that actually has a bit of mobility and allow for some growing pains? Yeah, the season will probably be a write off but there MIGHT be a future... as it is now our only future is 109 yards for 0 TD's and 1 INT (for a TD)...

I vote new QB.Release KG, bring in a couple QB's and have a 4 or even 5 way TC battle to see who get's it.From here on out i'd say let Porter have the rest of the season.

I don't think KG was the problem.

the Winnipeg D shut down the run early, forcing usual 2nd and long situations, and the receivers could not get open much like they couldn't in the first game against Winnipeg. Remember Suber's blanket coverage of Bruce?

Nah, Winnipeg one this one fair and square in the trenches.

The Oline was bad .. I don't blame glen

The entire team was bad but KG is the “leader” and as that leader it’s his job to spark them and get them going. KG just seems to content to just mail it in and collect his pay cheque and wait for the next game.

KG threw a boat load of passes out into the middle of Bomberland and scrambles like a hard boiled egg.

I’d give the ball to Porter next season and see what he can do. Mop up duty isn’t enough to judge a players abilities. Give him a shot… how can it really hurt?

Don't forget that Porter was a TiCat starter in approx. 18 or 19 games in the past and lost his job to Glenn. Porter is a great mobile QB although his passes seem to float forever and he gets the Jimmy Legs when the pressure is on.

I don’t think he is the savior IMO.
Let Boltus have a shot at playing or bring in some new talent possibly…
It is difficult to ascertain if Glenn can win big games…I’m still on the fence…If past history dictates future results we may have to make a change at QB…

Poorly prepared, the Peglets seemed to know or playbook better than we did. The cats were not ready to play. BAD COACHING   :?

Here’s your turkey for Thanksgiving TC fans.

Don't be so hard on Glenn. He's arguably one of the top 6 QBs in the league right now - and almost certainly one of the top 7. (Sorry Jyles)

In an eight team league, that’s really damning him with faint praise!

I don’t know…

A few teams backups might be better than KG…

…key word in that comment is the “past”. Since then Porter has been relegated to short yardage situations and mop-up duty in garbage time. We really don’t know what we have in Porter until such as time as he is given a series of meaningful games to play. He and other QB hopefuls deserve at least that before any final judgements are passed on their future with the club.

…really? I think he has appreciably more zip on the ball than KG and, as far as the “Jimmy Legs” comment goes, at least he has pretty good mobility and has good success with his runs. I mean, what do you want the guy to do if the pocket collapses and all the receivers are covered?

A few games ago, when KG went off for a minor ding, Porter came on (not in garbage time) and led the offense down the field on a pretty decent drive for a TD. He did the same yesterday (x2).

As much as I have cheered for Glenn since he has been in the Hammer the reality is that he is a 500 QB. Period. Has been his entire CFL career. Being a 500 QB is actually the only thing he has been truly consistent at.

That's the point. Porter had been given ample opportunity in the past and subsequently lost his job. He was the annointed TiCat starter a few seasons ago yet couldn't maintain that status.

Glenn had about 3 throws last night that looked brutal, but for the most part was pretty accurate considering he was dodging tacklers in the backfield a lot of the time. We had quite a few first downs wiped out by penalties, and a perfectly placed long ball to Williams in double coverage that should have been caught. Thigpen and Mann were invisible. I wish this team still had a happy Arland Bruce.

KG is not a winner. i've posted this time and time again. the guy is a career .500 QB, and the ticats have been .500 with him. why expect anything else?

will never win with KG.

That's A Big BINGO!!!!

Heck, Nealon Greene could probably do better than KG did last night. Then again…

On a more serious note ... obviously Glenn has some good games. But there are times when he is just clearly not on. Whether it's something to do with him, or the way the opposing defence schemes against him (e.g. applying heavy pressure because they know he cannot scramble or run), or our own coaches' game plans, there have been games where absolutely nothing is working. You can easily tell which games these are because we reach halftime with, say, 3 points or less. And one thing I've noticed about Glenn over the years, is that if he falls completely flat for the first two quarters, he tends not to suddenly improve in the second half. (Contrast to McManus, who could play terribly for part of the game and still come back to work magic in the end ... sometimes.)

If I know this, I assume a lot of fans know this. Perhaps everyone in the stadium who is not on the Ticat coaching staff knows this.

In such situations, the coach needs to make a QB change earlier. There is little to lose, and potentially a lot to gain. If anyone feels "disrespected" for being pulled, well, I guess they'll have to rethink what it means to play on a team.

O-line deserves the whipping today. Not Glenn.

Marcel deserves the whipping today. Not Glenn.

Chamblin deserves the whipping today. Not Glenn.

Khari deserves the whipping today. Not Glenn.
