Got a new computer and I seemed to have messed up everything in my account when I signed in. Does anybody know how to get rid of this account, or start a new account or at the very least change my username?

I think I had signed in with a very old account’s credentials. I want to sign in as 60YearFan.

Thanks Noah. I was able to sign in on my newer account. Not that it’s terribly important but is there a way to change the user name? Or if there is would it delete my history etc.?

Changing the name of your account is certainly possible! Just let me know what you’d like it to be and I will make the change.

I love the idea but unfortunately, the forums will only allow usernames to have Letters, Numbers, and a limited number of special characters like “_”, so we are unable to add the + character to your username.
If you’d like, we can do 60PlusYearFan.

I believe that users are able to change it themselves, but I don’t mind helping. I’m around almost all the time anyway 
In the future, if you (or anyone else stumbling onto this thread) would like to make some changes to your account, here are the steps to follow;
- Navigate into your preferences tab. This can be done by selecting your profile picture in the top right corner, pressing the “person” tab, and selecting “Preferences”.
- From here you should be able to edit your user username, profile picture, etc by selecting the little pencil/wrench icon.

When I go there there is no pencil icon opposite the user name. The only things I can change are the profile picture and the email address

Got it, thanks for letting me know! I’m still fairly new to the admin role and didn’t realize username changes require an admin’s help. Looks like I’ll be handling those requests for members who need a name change

yes just to clarify, only admins can change usernames. @BetweenTheGoalposts as admin can change everything. Moderators can change/edit/ move content (topics and posts) but not most critical user account details.
