I noticed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from Hamilton just signed with OKC in the NBA for 5 years and $172 million.
Still just 23 years old and not yet a well known name even around here but he will be.
Not too shabby and congratulations to Shai.

Going to be a hecka of a series agains’t the TWolves. Go Shai and Thunder! Shai is pure sweetness, silky but needs to step up his game in this one, passing off a bit more I think. To think he could be the MVP of the NBA and got cut from his high school team in grade nine here in Hamilton or maybe it was Toronto, if I have this correct, unreal.
Great 2nd half last night for SGA and the Thunder to take game 1. First TSN Sportscentre news report, Panthers/Canes report second one which I found interesting although probably due to TSN carrying NBA playoff games and no NHL playoff games.
Some were upset that TSN lead with NBA highlights last night over NHL highlights. It’s being debated if this was due to Shai’s current influence right now or if it’s due to him being from the southwestern Ontario region. Basketball was invented by a Canadian but of course hockey is our national winter sport.
Whatever the reason may be, you can be assured that if the Leafs were still playing they wouldn’t have been bumped by the NBA. We would probably have been treated to an in depth story about how Matthews trims his moustache.
Agreed, I was pissed off that they didn’t switch over to the NBA game at the conclusion of the hockey game. Sportsnet was carrying both games last night; but if you aren’t a 360 subscriber you had to listen to boring post hockey talk on all the other Sportsnet channels instead; it’s just so dumb.
I do agree with them somewhat considering that the Canes/Cats series have a heck of lot more Canucks playing compared with the Thunder/TWolves an argument to be made without doubt. Bias BS media for sure. That being said SGA is in consideration for MVP NBA Canadian dude who got cut from his his school team here in Hamilton, Ontario. Now THAT IS A STORY any way you want to cut the friggin mustard. It’s in the UNREAL TERRITORY OF CANADIAN SPORTS HISTORY.
Congrats SGA, you earned it! Not many NBA fans at all on this CFL forums site that is for sure. Interesting considering what a fantastic player SGA is and some great Canadian talent in the NBA. But there aren’t many people on this forum to begin with as we know so it’s a very narrow sports fan group of sorts I suppose.
Great win by the Thunder last night, SGA made one hecka of a pass off the floor from his butt as he slid to the floor, surprised he didn’t blow out an ankle or knee on that one.
Love it, SGA took it to the TWolves fans but it was a close win that’s for sure:
Thunder can close it out tonight for the NBA Championship. This would be a great way to cap off a dream season for SGA. Nice mural they did here in Hamilton at his high school, sweet!:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Honored for NBA MVP Win with Mural at His HS, Photo Revealed
Congratulations SGA and Oklahoma City. Well deserved!
SGA is only one of 4 NBA players to win league scoring, league MVP, Finals MVP & Championship Trophy. Others were Jordan (multiple times), Shaq & Kareem.
And he’s just starting.
