My thoughts on the game - September 28, 2008

This team is in trouble now, we are now tied for 2nd. The defence tried to hold this team in it all game, but to many stupid decisions by Bishop cost us the game. Sure the defence couldn’t get off the feild in the first half, but the offence couldn’t score any points. What is going on with our goaline and short yardage offence? We can’t even get in with the ball at the one yard line.

It gets frustating watching Bishop, and don’t get me wrong I do like Mike, but he can make 1 play where you just say “Wow!!!” I honestly yelll that out loud. Then on the next play when he throws a wild pass, resulting in an over throw of a wide open receiver, or and INT, I just scratch my head. This guy can look like Tom Brady on one play, then on the next he can look like Joey Harrington.

Now we have two big games coming up against the Stamps. Is DJ Flick gonna be back? or what about Fantuz?

I think Durant should get the start next game.

One more thing, after Labour Day, I said, “Well Bishop can only get better.” But it appears he has gotten worse.

I think they made a bigger mistake by completely avoiding a running game as well. Stu Foord did very well last week in relief, and they give him the ball once in this game. We could not have ran the ball more than 5 times today not counting a few by Bishop. Obviously with Cates out Montreal is going to playing more towards the pass defensively and we played right into their gameplan.

Was not impressed with Bishop or the coaching staff this game. At least Richie made adjustments at the half and the defense played excellent in the 2nd half, only giving up points on turnovers.

the trouble is earlier we were playing perfect football (plays, coaching) and when u have injuries u have too.
When u have a deep ball oportunity u must connect, no drop balls, no miscommunications
We arent anymore but not all is failed.
Oddly enough we still control our own destiny.
We have Calgary twice
We can only get better on special teams and offense
We win next week at home then momentum comes to us again and who knows

The only thing that scares me is Kens decisions lately.
but as we get bodies back maybe his decisions wont be as hard

Go Riders Go

In the next 2 weeks I hate to say this we will have a firm hold on 4th in the west. We are going to lose back to back to Calgary, they are the best team in the league right now.

No Flick until possibly the 2nd Calgary game or the game against Hamilton. Flick hasn't even been mentioned, heard he was out running the ladder this week for short amounts of time, I would be surprised if we saw him before the end of the season at this rate. Hopefully we will at-least have Wes back this coming week.

I actually think we'll pull out at least a split with Calgary, they are coming off two easy victories against probably the worst team in the league right now in Toronto and hopefully look past the Riders. Offensively they are up there with Montreal as far as how dangerous they are, but defensively they aren't nearly as good as the Al's.

Smilin' Hank is probably due for a collapse about now isn't he? Or maybe he's saving it up for the playoffs.

Looking at the schedules I would say the 'Riders almost have to sweep Calgary if they hope to finish in first. Of the western teams I would say BC has the easiest schedule remaining and Edmonton for sure the toughest.
