My QBs ranking 1/3 through 2022 season

If you do the math 19th & 20th place should belong to a back-up’s back-up. It shows at least BC & Winn. haven’t been part of the musical quarterback game every else seems to be playing.

so far pretty much the same except Harris moving up slightly to be T3 with MBT. Fajardo still ahead of Bo.

Aside from Rourke and Collaros, The QB production this season is one of the worst since I first became a CFL fan in the late 70’s/early 80’s.

Back then it seemed that nearly every team had a strong calibre QB at the helm such as Warren Moon, Tom Clements, Dieter Brock, Condredge Holloway, Roy Dewalt,
J.C. Watts, Tom Wilkinson, Matt Dunigan etc etc
Even Canadian Gerry Dattilio was better than most of the sad sack pivots on todays rosters.

The glaring truth is that the CFL can no longer attract top talent from the U.S. and any Nationals worth their salt will bolt for greener pastures at a moments notice.

It is disheartening how far the CFL has fallen in the past 40 years, both in terms of overall talent and the public conscientiousness.

roy dewalt, now that is a name for the overrated QB thread. Only reason he accomplished anything is that he had Fernandez to throw to. He made very poor decisions on broken plays.

I wonder if any of O’Connor, Maier, Fine, or Arbuckle will be worth mentioning come next Monday morning.

maybe, after they have each played at least 4 games.

Might get honourable mention if they have a good one, but consistency is the thing, right?

Yeah, I probably wouldn’t be ranking any of them in the top 10 next week, but hopefully their performances this week will be worth mentioning.

Well, Dewalt certainly made excellent decisions in the 1985 Grey Cup without Swervyn Mervyn Fernandez who didn’t play in the big game due to injuries.
Dewalt guided the Lions to a resounding victory and won the Grey Cup MVP while passing for nearly 400 yards, 3 TD’s and 0 INT all without his top receiver.

Roy had 6 banner seasons as the Lions top dog including the 1987 campaign in which Fernandez was also absent as he had already bolted to the NFL Raiders the year previous.

Sure, Roy may have had lapses in judgement at times, but his overall stats/production during that period were very impressive and still much superior to the calibre of guys we have today.

No. It is the NFL expanding and increasing it’s minimum salary for it’s practice roster that have seen the decrease of top calibre QB.

The CFL should keep their star QBs because it going to be more scarce when the XFL and USFL begin to take flight

Jake Maier went 23 of 28 for 294 yards and 3 TDs against 0 INTs.

But still lost to Collaros.

Worthy of an honourable mention?

Fajardo showed a nice jump in efficiency from 89 to 95 after his performance against BC.

Dane Evans dropped from 88.5 to 84.5.

and my top 5 remain my top 5, though they are in slightly diff order.

Liking Harris at 3rd but MBTs last game hurt him and I think he will rise again.

Thing that stands out to me from those charts is how low Bo has fallen, & Dane Evans as well. Both are going to have years to forget at this rate. It also gets the rumour mill going as well , it seems.
