I think that Fajardo is actually better than his record shows. The Riders have absolutely NO o-line. Put him on the Bombers where he would not be running for his life after 1.5 seconds and I would bet his numbers would leap.
Ranking QB's can be very misleading as they do not all have the same opportunities to excel. A poor o-line destroys your career and a great o-line makes you shine (Bo-Levi is a case in point)
Its a small thing I know, but I feel compelled to point out that this week Harris did a little better against the top team than Mitchell did against the bottom team.
Itâs always frustrating that they list the QBâs by yardage, which can be especially skewed if one or another has played more or less games.
Looking at the more meaningful QB rating, Rourke and Zach are deservedly 1-2 but I am surprised to see MacBeth a solid #3. My eye test would have said otherwise. My eye test is correct on Bo, however, who is solidly entrenched in the bottom half.
Yeah, Bo is not making accurate passes the way he used to. But at least this season he has limited his INTs. I would probably rank him 4th in the league right now, after Rourke, Collaros, and Fajardo. I'd probably list Masoli ahead of Bo too, if he were healthy and playing.
Oh, and here's the ranking of starting QBs by efficiency:
Bo is low. Is it time to fight fire with fire? Should the Stamps switch to the young guy... 'Jake Maier'... to beat the other young guy... 'Nathan Rourke'?
Maybe. The Stamps play Toronto and Winnipeg next. I'd be very tempted to give Maier at least a few series in those games unless BLM is completing 70%+ of his passes and putting together decent drives.
I'm sure that Dave Dickenson will be tempted to make the switch if Bo struggles. I wonder if he'd have to clear it with John Hufnagel. There may be some underlying season long strategy that we're not aware of.
Dickenson has been reluctant to move away from Bo, even though it is apparent to most, including many Stampeder faithful, that he is past his best before date. If last night is any indication of what to expect from Bo in a clutch 4th quarter against a top rival, Maier is long overdue to play meaningful minutes, if not start. I donât know about others, but I had no feeling Bo could score when needed last night while at the same time feeling Rourke could score whenever needed. A pick 6 and a return TD werenât enough to mask their offensive shortcomings.
I have no idea what happened to the Stampedersâ passing game but for the last four games, something has been off.
Through the first four games of the year, Mitchell averaged a 69 percent completion rate and 278 yards passing. In the next four games, weâve seen a 52 percent rate and 187 yards on average.
Basicly they all suck except Rourke and Colaros.
We are a Simoni Marino hit away on Colaros from having no capable QBs next season
As for Rourke, if he was smart, he would secretly get a hand shake deal with an NFL team, now, with a signing bonus, and tben fake an injury and sit the rest if the season out. I cringe every time he is sacked or pressured, at the thought of how much money ge could potentially lose. That is why its an absolute joke that Marino wasnt givin a life suspension from the league.
Why would any qb come to the CFL, instead of the X OR USFL, if clowns are literally allowed to purposely try to end your career.
I really hope two Lions offensive lineman takes that PLAYER out on tbe very first play tbis week. Have Rourke just run out of bounds, and then one guy get in behind him and grab his plant leg, and another guy hit him right in the GOSH DARN knee.
If the CFLPA is going to protect this guy, then let the players take care of him.
well now, after another impressive outing from Bo, he is 6th in yards, 8th in effic, and 10 in pass%. Question is, will the CFL staff nimrods still rank him as 3, or will they drop him all the way to 4th?
Cornelius is a guy I see moving up that list. 7 games under his belt but when he stops overthinking he has a good arm, doesn't throw "bad" interceptions and has good legs when he runs.
The second half of the game this week he looked like a completely different guy than the first half. McAdoo's coaching will probably get him much better tha where he is now.....
I think efficiency rating should be the default stat for the rankings, rather than total yards thrown for. One stat doesnât tell the complete picture but the efficiency rating is the closest, in my opinion.
I think there is a good chance that Dickenson will start Maier. I would. Prior to yesterday Dickenson gave no inclination that he had seen what most of the rest of us have. It should be easier now to put Bo on the pine since the ice has been broken.
Jake Maier SHOULD start for the rest of the season. I'd start him if it was MY team. But I have a gut feeling that BLM will have to sign off on that decision. He's the aging King of The Bullpen and young Maier is the heir apparent... who might just smother him with a pillow like all young king wannabe's do.
What happens if Micheal O'Connor (five for five) shoots the lights out in BC next game while Caleb Evans doesn't start? Will O'Connor get to appear in the top 10 rankings board?
