My QBs ranking 1/3 through 2022 season

Cant find if there is already a recent similar thread.

1 - Rourke
2 - Collaros
3 - MBT
T4 - Fajardo
T4 - Harris
6 - Mitchell
T7 - Dane Evens
T7 - Masoli

No one else worth mentioning

This is according to who I would want to play for my team all things being equal

You got MBT ranked to high on this list. I rate him 13th out of the nine

check the stats. Dont tell the whole story but does hold a lot of weight.

Pff! on the stats. He doesn’t pass my eye test

have you been watching all the games?

Yes I have. He over throws and under throws to his receivers. Holds on to the ball too long thus getting giving up sacks.

Go read on Ivan Diablo on his thoughts on BLT, I mean MBT

and yet he is second in pass % among QB with over 100 attempts, and fourth in yards, showing that his completions are not just a bunch of short passes.

I dont know who this El Diablo guy is

Rourke
Collaros

D. Evans
MBT
Fajardo
Harris
BLM

C. Evans
Arbuckle

  • Rourke (especially) and Collaros are in a league of the own.
  • the following 5 listed are all interchangeable.
  • the final 2 listed have too small a sample size to judge with any specific degree.

Collaros
Rourke

I'll give ZC the edge on experience, but Rourke is right on his heels with his rushing ability.

BLM
Masoli (assuming he's healthy)

Fajardo (assuming he's healthy)
Schiltz
C. Evans
MBT
Harris
D. Evans

Collaros

.
MBT
Masoli
Dane Evans (passes the eye test even if he doesn't have good turnover stats)
.
.
Caleb Evans
Fajardo (over Harris only because he can run)
Harris (nice guy, but most overrated, his arm is weak and his throws are all short and slow and vulnerable to interceptions)
.
.
Edmonton doesn't currently have a QB.

I rate QBs on drive based results. Outscore the opposition and you win, so points per drive is key.

Rourke is in a class by himself

Mitchell is quietly having a very productive season
Collaros

Fajardo
Caleb Evans
Harris
Cornelius

Masoli
Adams

Bethel-Thompson
Dane Evans

Arbuckle

  3. BLM

  4. Dane Evans

  5. Maier (since stats don’t matter here)

  6. Masoli (since the IR doesn’t matter here)

  7. Fajardo

Let's just pause for a moment. Nathan Rourke is being ranked #1, even #2....and he's a veritable rookie?? He's played a grand total of 19 games (not all complete games of course) while only throwing 275 passes and he's made this big of an impression.

This is nothing short of jaw-dropping. Never seen anything like it for a 24-year old QB in all my years of following the CFL.

wondefull isn’t it

Keep in mind it’s Nathan Rourke’s 2nd year. Doug Flutie’s 2nd year was amazing too.

Here’s another amazing stat… BOTH QB’S STARTED THEIR CFL CAREERS IN BC!!!

Not a fair comparison at all as Flutie was the designated starter his first year with BC (approx. 400 passes thrown and a subpar 71 QB rating) while Rourke was a backup spot duty QB throwing only 82 passes his first year.

Rourke is still a rookie in many respects and has a 123.3 QB rating as a first year starter far surpassing all major vets in this league and already much further ahead of Flutie at the same stage of their careers.

Just imagine what this kid can accomplish as a second year starter in 2023?

I agree. Nathan’s performance is jaw dropping.

Still… Both had mediocre first seasons, both had (or will have) incredible second seasons and both accomplished these feats in BC. Way to go Lions!

After your first year, you aren’t a rookie. Doesn’t matter if you are first string, second string, or third string. Rourke isn’t a rookie in any sense of the word. You can call him a first year starter, but not a rookie.

Rourke- First and second in almost every category

Collaros- Record and stats

Mitchell- Record and starts

Everyone else you could put them anywhere in 4-9.

God.. if Rourke goes to tbe NFL,, then we are just one Smoni Marino hit on Colaros away from having a weak armed Mitchell as the only capable qb left in tbe whole league.
Jake Maier not withstandong, everyone else is brutal.
