My Hamilton LDC photos

Well done Bobo! Are you sure there wasn’t a female “Kelly” down there who was also saying “No means No”?

Well there was a cutie blonde knockout that was a ten unfortunately wearing a twelve that I’m pretty sure was Lamps girlfriend . I do know that there was one guy in their group that was standing up and yapping all game who we shut-up real quick when O-Leary O caught that long pass that sealed the deal . The blonde and the yapper left pretty quickly as we razzed them all the way out of their seats and up the stairs to the concourse as we all waved bye bye to them Ti-Cat style. :+1:

No, CC. I took my profile name in honour of the Stipley neighbourhood. I’ve always admired genuine people. Grew up in Toronto.

LOL. I take that as a compliment! It’s true, people in my old neighbourhood were, and still are, hard-working mostly blue-collar folks; many were first and second gen immigrants. We (boomers) went to schools and churches close by, shopped locally along Barton St. (and Ottawa street, and only rarely going downtown), played pick-up “ball” (and joined team sports) at Scott Park and also on the side streets, attended events at Civic stadium, including Tiger Cat practices and games of course (often getting in for free), watched baseball and wrestling at the baseball field next to the stadium, and learning to swim at the Municipal Pool. Even though I no longer live there, Stipley is still in my bones.

Thank you for sharing your photos. We moved to Vancouver Island 3 years ago, really miss Ticat games.

Thank you for sharing that CC. A most enjoyable read of your personal neighbourhood history. My post was absolutely meant as a compliment :grinning:.

You are most welcome. If you haven’t seen them, I posted photos from the 2 Grey Cups recently held in Hamilton.
Don’t know if those threads still exist or not.

These are great! Very cool that you got to hold the flag. Will have to try to get onto the field when I go to BMO later this month

Here’s a Tom Bochsler photo from 1960 of the original Civic Stadium and the adjoining Scott Park baseball stadium. The corner at the bottom of the photo is the intersection of Balsam and Beechwood Avenues…

Yes, but remember BMO is in Toronto. You will probably need references and a police check.
