I hate to say it, but the TiCats must win this Friday or the season is over. With the way Winnipeg is playing I can not see The Tabbies taking two games from them. In addition, there is word that Maas has some sort of injury and our defensive backfield has had more changes than babies diaper. Also, the way the west is playing, there might be a west cross-over. Although I can see the dreaded Argos improving when Damon Allen gets back.
Nevermind that the TiCats have lost close games because of this or that, the fact is that they are 1-5. The wins and loses are the numbers that count to get into the post season and nothing else. I really hate to say this, but realistically, I can see the Cats going 5-13 or 6-12 this year.
i wouldn't say a must as far as points go, but a must as this should be the "turn the corner" game we've been waiting for.
if we can't win big fri, how do we take a 13 straight loss road record into the peg and expect to gel then?
Took the day off work to see this one .They must win this one or the season is in trouble. Not lost but in big trouble going back to the peg after a lost . NOT GOOD.
BUT THE OTHER REASON THAT I AM GOING IS BECAUSE THINK THAT IS THE GAME WE WIN THAT TURNS THE CORNER TO MAKE A RUN FOR THE PLAYOFFS. :cowboy:
NO DOUBT about it this is a CRUCIAL game ... As it happens to be my maiden voyage to IWS this season - bI feel compelled to PIPE UP.
First things first ... on soooo many levels, this is, INDEED, a MUST WIN !! Not necessarily a season ender if lost, however, this game can go a LOOOOOOONG WAY to restoring BELIEF into this squad!!! BELIEF in themselves, and their coaches - as well as the FANS BELIEF in THEM !!!!!
HOPEFULLY - these guys "cowboy up" and play with a type of desperation and intensity FITTING of a FOOTBALL TEAM FIGHTING FOR THEIR PLAYOFF LIVES!!!!
HOPEFULLY - there is an energetic, positively charged, sell-out crowd willing to get behind a SOLID EFFORT by the hometown ballers.
It is time to batten down the hatches, MEN !!
RUN WHAT YA BRUNG !!
Bring it all - and LEAVE IT ALL on the field this week and there is NO DOUBT the W will follow !!
I am STOKED - DON'T DISAPPOINT !!!!!!!!
Peace.
P.S - A little perspective - the Cats have played 3 of their 6 games against, arguably, the best team in the CFL ... the season is FAR FROM OVER.
This TEAM must DEFEND home turf. Seven games remain in the confines of IWS - win them all and steal 1 or 2 on the road, (preferably versus Toronto and/or Winnipeg) and the playoffs are a REALITY.
The team has the talent to win ... it is time to match the talent with DESIRE and EXECUTION !
I was told by Rob Katz himself on train back from Montreal that there is a crossover. So If the GM of the Ticats doesn’t know the rules we are in big trouble.
The top team from each division automatically makes it to the Scotiabank Championships. Then, the second place teams in each division host a Scotiabank Semifinal game against the third place team in their division. However, a situation may occur whereby the fourth place team from one division has more points, not tied, than the third place team from the opposite division. In this case, the fourth place team would cross over into the opposite division and compete against the second place team of that division.
Please note that at the end of the regular season the second place team in a given division will always host a Scotiabank Semifinal, regardless of the number of total points a team who crosses over may accumulate."
