Much Ado About nothing

Every team that is entering the playoffs has a winning record.. The crossover system put the best teams in the playoffs. That being said Id like there to be one less playoff spot with only the best team in the league getting the bye. But we will save that for next season..lol

Sooooooo...a free pass to the GC then. No thanks

Realisticly, only Calgary and Edmonton belong in the playoffs.. It is a guarantee that a 9-9 team will ne in the Grey Cup this season..

Bungle, I think you mean the opposite of realistically since in reality the teams that are in the playoffs belong there because they are there. In a virtual reality computer game, now yes, maybe some of the teams that made it wouldn't make it because there everything would be "perfect" ie. all teams making the playoffs would have great win-loss records and would have played excellently throughout the year, game in game out.

If the Cfl let the same percentage of teams in as the NFL.. Only 3 teams would of got in.. So Saskatchewan would of had a huge win today.. In the NHL and NBA it would be 4 teams so Hamilton's win today would of also been huge. Bigger than it was already.

Yeeeah. I can't say I like the idea either.

If pigs had wings we could pick our future supply of bacon out of the sky.

Simple reality is that you are going to have teams without winning records in the post season. It happens in the NFL to. It will become less likely if another team enters the league. You need 4 teams in or 6, 5 doesn't even remotely work...not even in fantasy land. 4 teams leaves too much money on the table.

With one division it works swimmingly.

It doesn't matter how many points a top team has in the West or the East in the CFL it all comes down to who is the most explosive and prepared team come playoff time and the Grey Cup.

The West started out the year like they were unstoppable and teams like Hamilton and Montreal had their slow starts in the East due in Hamilton's case to the loss of their QB Zach Collaro's for 7 games to start the year from a cheap head shot by Odell Willis of Edmonton but since Collaro's has been back the team has been winning and especially at home with a perfect 6-0 record since the new Tim Horton's Field opened that's comparable to anything the West has put up this year.

The media, TSN all the papers, had predicted a Montreal victory yesterday and predicted Toronto and Montreal would be headed to the CFL East playoffs but they forgot they had to get by Hamilton first and with all of Montreal's weapons of the great Duron Carter, S.J. Green, London and so on, they couldn't do it and not only that but Crompton has not thrown for one 300 yard game all season Collaro's has thrown for 6, two young guns but ours is much better!!!

GO CATS GO, Let's show the CFL Who's Boss and make them eat their Words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There not going to have less playoff games. That means less revenue.
The cross over did exactly what it was put into place for and make sure that an East team with a worst record that the 4th place west team does not get into the playoffs.
The question that may remain is where does that 4th place team go in the playoffs.
Should the 2nd place west team be able to choose who the play in the semi's ? 3rd or 4th.
Should the 3rd place west team be granted the choice to go through the east or west. Basing this on the Merits of finishing 3rd being that much more important.
With 3 of the 4 east teams all finally into their full home field now making them equal to what all 5 western teams have now by ways of dates available to balance out a schedule on a regular season basis. Next season will force both east and west teams from their home venues during either the WWC or Pan AM games.
Other than that all but Toronto have prime dates and will not be forced on an extended road trip est to start the season. Montreal's only confilcts comes with McGill CIS football 4 home games. The Als, however have had a strong home field advantage playing most home games post Labor day with the 1:00 Sunday start.

Also happens in the NBA's Eastern Conference on a regular basis.

The start of the 2015 season will likely coincide with the final weekend of the WWC (July 4-5), so only Edmonton and BC would be affected. Ottawa and Winnipeg may not be able to play any home pre-season games. Though, unlikely, you can't rule out the Argos playing at home during the Pan Am Games. The RC is only being used for the opening and closing ceremony and the Jays will actually be playing a home series during the middle weekend of the games, so it is conceivable that The Argos could play a midweek home game. Hamilton is out of luck as THF is booked for soccer every day of the Games.
