As much as I don't want the EE to make the playoffs, can't ever cheer for TO.
Makes it a little easier to cheer for the Esks this weekend now since the Riders won tonight. Congrats Riders.

finish of the year. riders need to protect the ball better. great game, but the riders still need to finish strong before I believe they are legit. last monday's stinker is still fresh in my mind
great game, crap officiating or not, still a great game, congrats Riders and thanks for cooling off the Als.
Man, this offense needs to be blown up and overhauled next year. I don't want Calvillo calling his own plays anymore. He calls the blandest, most predictable games and opponents have figured out what he's going to do in most situations. Can't get ENOUGH of that running play from shotgun. Or calling that play in short-yardage situations. Or him over/underthrowing wide-open receivers.
Then there are the receivers. At year's end, keep Cahoon, Stala, and Terrence Edwards and dump the rest. I've had it with Watkins dropping balls and taking penalties at the wrong times. I've had it with Anderson no-showing for most of a game and then celebrating a catch like we just won the Grey Cup. I'm tired of O'Neill Wilson being unable to catch a beach ball thrown by his grandmother. These guys are not getting it done.
With the number of turnovers we forced, it's flat-out embarrassing that we lost that game, and a sad reflection on our once-mighty offense. These guys are going to get blown out in the playoffs, and rightly so. I actually thought the D played well for most of the game, but they were simply on the field for too long.
...Riders played a good game....really turned it up a notch at the end to pull out a win...I can't get over how a qb. like Joseph can look so good one play...and stink it up the next....reminds me of guy by the name of Kevin who plays for the Bombers....IF ...these guys ever get it together...they could be dangerous..congrats Riders..
My thoughts are that the two teams a pretty evenly matched but a slight edge to the Als. The Als lost this game 5 turn overs and the score does not reflect this. The Als defense seemed to be out there a lot and the offense stuttered. A minor shake up might be needed once again. The Riders for some reason play their best when they have to win. And showed that once more. Congi might be their weak link IMO. If a game comes down to a field goal try I would be mighty nervous if I was a rider fan. But you never know he is not a bad kicker but I noticed he is not good either IMO. Great game though! Als fans do not be so hard on your team it is not like they are not trying but more they ran into a Rider team that played to win.
Check this thread out, it covers some of the discussion on the history of the CFL.
The CFL and NFL "borrow" rules and ideas from one another all the time. It not a matter of one league copying the what the other one does. Yama, the best example I can give is the QBs wearing a different coloured jersey than the rest of the guys in practice and training camp to protect them from injury-- the CFL , NFL , NCAA and CIS and CJFL all do that to keep their QBs healthy. The team that started it all was the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
the Bombers will take Watkins off your hands …disciplineand…he looks pretty solid to me…we;ll just have to cure his case of the ‘dropsies’…and hope for the best …i guess//??? :rockin:
