I’d say the Alouette backfield of George Dixon and Don Clark in the 60s.
Just we had a revolving door at QB. . .
I’ll have to look them up, they before my time.
Not even close
Edmonton Eskimos
QB; Jackie Parker
FB: Johnny Bright
HB: Norman Kwong
Ham
Pringle
Drummond
So then give me yours?
I would say a definite contender
Warren Moon
Jim Germany
Neil Lumsden
The '50’s Esks could also put Rollie Miles in the backfield. There were better rushers, like George Reed etc… but they were 1 man shows. Hard to top the Esk unit.

Maybe we’ll look back in 10 years time and realize I’m right
Without doubt the best in my lifetime
I was going to include Rollie Miles as I planned on showing the backfield for just one season. But the best season I had for both Bright and Kwong wasn’t a big one for Rollie. Bernie Faloney and Don Getty were part of that setup as well but I decided to use the long term core.
As I checked different seasons going from the early fifties to the late fifties it seemed like Normie had great years and Bright had good years and then it reversed Bright had the great years and Kwong had the good years.
You must be having a helluna lifetime, they were long before my time. Maybe not that long
1957
This wasn’t each player’s best season, Kwong rushed for 1437 yds the year before and Bright ran for 1722 yds the year after. But if I am not mistaken, by rushed (pardon the expression) research, I think it is the trio’s best combined season.
Very likely - because they played multiple positions, they were the most talented.
Parker played QB, RB, DB and kicker, Bright played FB and LB
There’s a stat for @BetweenTheGoalposts, Parker had 8844 yards punting, oh, and a lifetime 64.5 yard field goal average…
1960 Ottawa Rough Riders (Grey Cup Champs)
QB: Russ Jackson/ Ron Lancaster
FB: Dave Thelen
RB: Ronnie Stewart
That’s pretty comparable to the Esks trio
Love Normie, but too small for the modern monster era
For that era and those times they were the best. And most fun . Football was barely professional back then but not the big Business of today. Those good old days, bad old days are gone for ever.
