It’s not the noise that’s the problem, it’s the screeching air horn noise that 99/100 people hate and it ruins the broadcast. It probably wouldn’t bother me at a game so much. This guy is a real piece of work if he thinks everyone should put up with it for him.
The real problem is the horns were right next to the broadcast booth.
If I have to listen to that horn constantly then I won’t watch football.
Id cancel his season tickets. What a selfish AH.
Exactly, some people have neurological/neuropsych conditions that can be very aggravated with something like an air horn and if I’m a paying customer sitting next to a guy constantly using an air horn with a medical condition like this or just irritated by it that goes beyond normal cheering and such, I’d be complaining to team management asap. Good on the Als for banning these things out of consideration for others.
You have to wonder
If the New Commish being from TSN had some input into this
I like the guy already
I never thought it would disturb the league that much. Sorry, but those who don’t like the noise can get noise-cancelling earphones, go watch billiards, go watch ping-pong — but don’t watch football.”
Thank goodness for that.
Singing at games I don’t mind.
Yeah singing helps bring about a social feeling for sure and then there is this type of singing that speaks about psychosocial aspects of society which may not be the type of singing you’re thinking about, not sure. (always liked Slipknot somewhat I will say when I get in the mood)
I dunno. I find the sound blends in more with the crowd noise.
you mean dont listen to football.
well, some singing anyhow
This guy, Denis Genereux, who started the air-horn craze back in 2011, now has a lot of copycats (i.e. imitateurs). Now he’s saying:
“I’m not done yet. In fact, we are not done. We already have bought (noisemakers) that are as noisy as the horns for the beginning of the season and have initiated talks with the team for long-term solutions.”
Tabernac!
I guess it is time to strip serve the guests
Strip serve?
Lapdance…
Oh well there Genereux, alright then, FAFO.
Says it started in 2011, but I remember the airhorns going back to the early 1980s at cavernous Olympic Stadium.
Why am I not surprised?
