Moe Peturs cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Acccording to a Buc blog:

"The roster cuts keep on coming. According to Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune, offensive linemen Jermarcus Hardrick and Moe Petrus have both been cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cummings notes the players’ agent as his source, so this should be pretty reliable. Neither player had done much in the preseason, which makes their release no real surprise. The Bucs do lack quality depth along the offensive line, however, these players were never likely to help fill that need.

With the release of these two players, we now have reports of eight players being cut: S Larry Asante, RB Mossis Madu, DT Frank Okam, CB James Rogers, LB Rennie Curran, DT Amobi Okoye and now OL Jermarcus Hardrick and OL Moe Petrus. That means the Bucs need to cut 14 more players by 9 p.m. today. Then, they’ll undoubtedly cut a few more as they pick other players off the waiver wire or sign a few veteran free agents."

My apologies for getting the spelling wrong, it should be Moe PETRUS.

Good. Get him up here so he can spend a couple of months with Marwan before he makes a serious shot at taking his job.

8) I was down in St. Petersburg, Fla. for the East/West Shrine game in January and the general consensus from all the
scouts, and NFL coaches that I talked to was that Moe Petrus was very over rated, and would not make any NFL roster.

Whether he can make a CFL roster remains to be seen !! He may be a long term project at best.
I don't think he can crack our starting lineup, at least not at this point in time, so don't get too excited about him !!

Who know if the has what it take for the Canadian game. :?

He was a late cut from a team with a pretty good offensive line. It would be great to get him up here in the next few weeks so he can practice for the rest of the season and come to camp next year competing for a spot on the roster.
