Historically the publishing of salaries in any sport has been a huge financial plus for the players. The NHLPA shot itself in the foot for years until they finally relented and watched salaries skyrocket. The players would be fools not to want salaries published. Good on the progressive commissioner for being open to the the idea.
The plot thickensā¦
"Thereās an option for 2027, and obviously, the term ends in 2029. I anticipate weāll look at 2027,ā he [CFLPA President Solomon Elimimian] said. āWeāll look at the language with our members internally, and weāll see if itās the best option to open up the collective agreement at that time.ā
The opt-out clause is tied to the CFLās television broadcast agreement with TSN, which is slated to expire on December 31, 2026. If the league strikes a new contract before that date with the base fee adjusted in either direction, positively or negatively, then either side can notify the other that the CBA will terminate two years early.
āIn terms of our relationship with the commissioner, I think itās getting better. I think in the past, thereās a lot of things we learned the first time (when the public did). I think that Stewart is open to hearing our opinions and actually listening to our thoughts and how it concerns the players,ā Elimimian said.
On to belatedly the new media deals, including in the United States and especially on a FAST channel and streaming app, CFL!
CFL+ was nice for free since 2023 and better than that sweetheart deal with those ESPN LOSERS via Bell Media insiders via TSN, but CFL+ is NOT going to cut it for increased international exposure as we go into 2026.
Here you go Dave Naylor you persistent witchy bloke, and take this with your other āold player leagueā bullshit and flush it with all your other CRAP posting tomorrow morning you rot-posting no-good galoot on this concocted agenda, as opposed to your other fine reporting.
Oh some of you are friends here? Well go talk to his wrongful ass and straighten him out on this front!
Heās WAY off based on not only all the evidence I have shared.
FIX IT or
DAVE NAYLOR!
I think the CFL players association should say donāt move the goal posts or we go on strike, lol. Jk

It was the owners that refused to publish salaries in the NHL. The players fought to get them published.
Thereās only a motivation from the owners side to keep them private.
I agree with others in being on the fence on this one.
It would be great for players to know what others are making around them when it comes to salary negotiations, however as some have pointed out from a perception point of view, its not the greatest because minimum salaries and those making close to it (a good chunk of the total player count) , does make the league look bad.
Perhaps a solution is to only publish salaries that are over $150K or $200K per season. That way it actually does the reverse and helps with the leagues perception among casual fans
On that claim made last week that the CFL attracts chiefly older American players, somebody today had to slap that happy, cackling-ass bloviating evil witchy Dave Naylor stirring his hot cauldron of steaming hot off-season crap.
All is see are empty boxes. Apparently that is off topic?
I had seen the lack of images displayed happen before at my former work, and it is not a matter isolated to only X.
This is a technical issue that can arise at times via any given device or network.
One easy potential fix is to simply try to use another device or network to access the forum, if clicking on the boxes does not open a different window for you for the images.
However, it is not a problem with the CFL Forum or a problem with X or with any given social media platform.
That is not what you said. Had you said that no problem. It was impossible to decipher your post.
What i said was that my browser couldnāt understand his X post. Or Mu X sk as i wrote it. Musk still owns X i expect.
