MMQB: Ranking the CFL's top 3 linebackers

The huge acquisitions of Vernon Adams Jr. and Folarin Orimolade. Big free agent signings like Damon Webb and Derrick Moncrief. A new direction after missing the playoffs in 2024.

I can’t disagree with any of these. I’ll go a step further & say those 3 teams arguably have the best LB duos in the CFL. Although the Riders, Lions & REDBLACKS have some very solid LB pairs as well.

I wouldn’t disagree either, but I’d put Beverette ahead of McManis one on one. McManis played 2/3 of a season in 2024. Beverette played the full season and finished with more sacks, interceptions, and defensive tackles (102 to McManis’s 57).

I could agree with that. They’re both very good. If we take it one step further & look at the front 7 of those 3 teams, the Argos wouldn’t be in the conversation. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to beat the Als & Elks on that front. Those are a pair of very scary front 7’s.

Who would be the next 3? Jameer Thurman, Darnell Sankey, Adarius Pickett, CJ Reavis…where would they rate?
