With Week 10 in the books, we’re now officially straddling the midway mark of the 2024 season. We’ll select our Monday Morning Quarterback midseason awards in next week’s column, but this week we’re focusing on a few other midseason declarations.
Good comments. My picks East were Argos, Als, 'Cats, RB’s with top 2 battling it out for 1st, bottom 2 for last. That was prior to Kelly decision. If he’s back Argos will take a run but can’t see them making up 3 game lead. Ott gets BC, Tor & Mtl twice each in 2nd half. They’ll drop back with or w/o Dru.
In West I had BC, Wpg, Edm, SK, Cal with BC clear favourite, Stamps clear pick for last - battle between other 3 for those spots. If Adams is back quick I still see them rebound & take top spot & a 3 way battle behind them with Stamps in rear.
Riders & Ottawa have been the biggest surprises but you’d have to put the Bombers in there too.
I have been impressed by two players in the last couple of games. Rambo in Montreal is turning heads as one of the CFL’s dynamic receivers. Meanwhile, in Edmonton, Leake is pure fun to watch as the fastest running back in football. I wish these guys the best as the season unfolds.
Hey, I had Winnipeg at first overall in my preseason power ranking. Having said that, they look a lot better in recent weeks, and with the west so weak this year, they are not by any means out of the race for the division lead.
I did have Hamilton near the bottom (#8) and that has sadly proven to be accurate.
