MMQB: 3 burning questions ahead of free agency

We’re in that calm place between full on storms.

The free agency communication window is now officially closed, which means the opening of 2025 signing season is upon us. This year’s negotiation window brought us plenty of agreements that are set to become official Tuesday afternoon.

Unfortunately thanks to all the media leaks I feel as though I already know most of the things I was looking forward to hearing about tomorrow.

Not I. Love being informed so that i can see the process unfold. The unopened gift for you will have to be, who gets pulled back and what happens to all the unsigned FAs out there. There will be enough quality in that group to build a team.

My burning question is the Elks receivers group. Lewis, Mitchell, Jones are gone, and Elks loss 2528 yds 67% of yardage from receivers.
It will be difficult to replace them, easily .

Yeah - I mentioned I thought they needed another receiver. With Gittens Jr & Julien-Grant I would call them both 2A’s at this point. There is potential there to be a #1. I could see them looking at Hollins who was great till the knee injury & awful after that. Another #2A. Dunbar possibly as well - but they’d have to be for the right price.

What Hervey has proven to be good at is bringing in receiver talent. In his last stint he found a Derel Walker, Brandon Zylstra. He was on staff when they brought in Adarius & had some input in resurrecting his career. So, I’m not sure they are looking at another guy in FA.

Fast Eddie is ahead of us. Dunbar has signed on, again. Steve, broke 1000 yds last year

Well, there you go. Channelling Ed we are. All set - I do believe we’ll need another RB, likely coming out of training camp. The Elks are thin there if Rankin goes down & Leake will be spotted as he’s returning kicks.
