…e is no doubt that voters do have it back of their mind on whether or not a player on a non-playoff team should be considered because that point was debated on this site last year.But if there was a bias in that direction, then why have a player emerge as the East Division candidate from a non-playoff team? And I would add that when a QB is up against a non-QB, there is a built in bias for QB’s IMO.

I don’t think any voter turns their mind to whether it’s MOP or MVP, nor do I think they make a distinction. They vote for the player they think had the best year.

He won’t be shutout he’ll still get the MOC trophy which will be well deserved. BLM deserves this award for this year taking us from worst to first . He also had more TD’S , more yardage and less int’s than captain Canuck on the season.

Hogwash–Bo had 7 more yards throwing and a few more TDs. Rourke had fewer games because of injury and had 10 rushing TDs. Rourke will get MOP and MOC. Hands down

…wice and so did Mitchell.Mitchell played 2 games against Edmonton and Rourke played 3. Both QBs lit up Edmonton.Mitchell played more games against the West than Rourke did.To be clear I’m saying all of the above is a wash, but the idea that Mitchell had an easier schedule is absurd.I’m actually ok with Rourke winning the award, but let’s give it to him based on merits not made up schedule arguments.

Mitchell had 3 games against Ottawa and Toronto. Who together barely gave more wins than Edmonton. It’s hardly a “wash”

I misread the CFL standings.

Mitchell still played 1st place Sask twice to Rourke’s one. So yes, the schedule does even out.

And “bud” is not necessary. We aren’t in a school yard, let’s attempt to have an intelligent discussion.

I’ve said multiple times I have no issues with Rourke winning the award, he may even be more deserving, but it’s not because the East plays an easier schedule.

There isn’t a sport around that measures MVP seasons against strength of schedule, and the CFL has the most balanced schedule of any league.

Rourke deserves the award on merit. Not Western superiority complexes.
