Michael Carter

Buono set something of an unofficial record this year when he cut cornerback Michael Carter, the team’s 2011 third-round pick, after just a single week at training camp in Kamloops because of a hamstring injury,

in what can only be viewed on the surface as a stunning rebuke of the team’s evaluation process.

Sure enough, Carter joined other ex-Lions like Jamall Johnson, Markeith Knowlton, Matt Kirk, Jason Jimenez, Belton Johnson, Matt Carter and Bo Smith with the Ticats.

Carter filled in at safety last week for the Ticats against Montreal and will be on special teams Saturday when the Lions attempt to extend their winning streak to nine straight.

“I was upset not at the fact they cut me, but that I was injured. That’s the worst feeling ever,? said Carter, a native of Windsor, Ont., who was touted after the May 8 draft as an eventual successor to cornerback Davis Sanchez.

We'll take as many NI's as we can as long as they can play the position and we DESPERATELY need healthy deepbacks with regulars Collins, Hinds, Shivers, and Means are still out with injuries..
Admittedly, I do like the addition of Webb as well, and hope that MB finds a place for him when the others return.

And why is Carter third on the depth chart this weekend behind import Turenne?

Yeah, he and that secondary looked good against Montreal, including Turennne and Thomas at safety.
