Media and Fans

I was having this debate awhile back with friends. Chicken or egg perhaps.
My hypothesis is that the local CFL media reflects the style of fans. Media members will only survive if they appeal to the common denominator. They do not cause but rather reflect:
Examples:
BC: mostly non committal. No real opinions.
Edmonton: begging for past glories and accountability in management.
Calgary: mostly silent but respectful of team
Sask: support at all costs if winning. Good for three years of losing
Winnipeg: look for the negatives first
Toronto: dismissive completely
Hamilton: much like Edmonton.
Montreal: only interested in backing a winner. Will drop instantly

What do you think?

That's what happens when you serve alcohol to your hipster friends.

Ha ha...perhaps. at least we talk football.
Then we die our hair and go out.

I think your generalizing. Drew in Hamilton does not fit your profile. Or Didier in Montreal, Naylor in Toronto… The problem with the media is lack of turnover. (The lifers)

Not saying there is a problem with the media. saying they reflect the fans.

Edmonton has very educated and informative media. They do however seem to give their team too much credibility than what it deserves.

They think quite highly of their Esks.. Especially Brian Hall.

I agree Edmonton has an educated informative media. They reflect the fans there.
My point in this is that I think fans get the media that they deserve as a whole.

As an example folks on here complain about the TO media. However they reflect the mood of the readership there
