the Esks caved and will now grant McCoil his release from the final year of his contract…

thanks Chris Williams.

CFL News Dave Campbell ?@Dave_CHED Dexter McCoil confirms that he and his agent Dan Vertlieb are not suing the #Eskimos to be released from the final year of his contract #CFL

To think I loved McCoil… What a bastard kid. Honor your contract or ask for a release IN HOUSE. I shouldn’t be hearing about anyone suing the Esks. He wouldn’t be playing anywhere if it weren’t for us. Unbelievable. Enjoy getting cut by the NFL teams who won’t keep an undersized linebacker. Douche.

Trust me there was no way in Hell that Williams was ever going to play for the Cats again anyways and I can almost guarantee that Austin didn’t give a second thought about the possibility of ever re-signing him. Besides with the talent the Cats have now I’m not sure that Williams would’ve made this team anyways. I’ll take "Speedy B " over Williams any day of the week.

I’m still shaking my head trying to figure out how this clown got certified in the first place. If I was a CFL GM I wouldn’t touch a player with Vertilieb as his agent with a 10 foot pole. I can’t believe that this clown has gotten away with this type of crap for a second time. The guy is a definite Cancer on the league and someone should really make him disappear…If you know what I mean. :thdn:

Huh, I read that tweet differently to say they are just not suing him for his release, not that they aren’t suing them any more and that he will get his release. When I first read that I thought maybe McCoil changed his mind given the blowback. Maybe they are granting his release, though I haven’t seen that confirmed exactly.

If the Esks can, I'd release him now. Even if he did change his mind. Why do we need this hanging over the team for the next 17 weeks? If he did change his mind, it just creates a "will-he-won't-he" situation. No, thanks.
