Originally, I feared the worst as replays revealed how badly he hit his head/neck on the ground and remained motionless.
Scared the heck out of me so imagine how his teammates must have felt.
Matt has immense potential in the CFL and I'd like to see him do well for many years to come.

It was a good sporting gesture by the Calgary player who delivered the tackle on the play, that when Matt was sitting up and looking to be better, that he was the first to come over and touch him on the shoulder.
Players understand, more than anyone, that for the grace of God that could be them where Matt was laying.

He wasn't the same last year after his concussion. Hopefully he takes all the time necessary to come back 100%

I didn’t see that, but I’ll take your word for it. I’m quite sure that player did not mean to injure him the way that he did, as it was the way that he landed that was the reason for that injury.
That was quite the effort he put into making that catch. And while I want him back into the lineup as soon as possible, he definitely he should take as much time off as he needs.
And he definitely is a Ticat, as you can see from this tweet from him:
