Masoli, How you like me now!

That, together with Grant’s fake move to block, completely convinced the DB that the throw was going to Underwood. That’s how I saw it.

Masoli came into his own late in the game and by passing 7 completions in succession for 141 yds, I say, "better late than never." I am not convinced that "the team" can win in Ottawa next week, but I must acknowledge, Masoli may have found himself. His timeout on the bench for two series of plays gave him time to find his groove and he played like a winner.
I don't see why he can't do this again against the Redblacks. Go Cats!!

He didn't win the game, the team did.

This is very true, I chose the wrong words there
But if he threw more INT's and fumbled a few times,
people including yourself would say he lost the game for us.
As the QB that handles the ball more than any other player he has a huge part in Wins and Losses

Yes, and for that reason I'm very nervous. He does deserve credit, but I'm not sure he deserves the starting QB job, unless Mathews still injured.

I'm so convinced the Ti-Cats will win, I changed my vacation to include a trip to Ottawa for the game. Managed to snag a ticket at TD Place and found a hotel with the help of some RedBlack fans.

You rock Oskie! I wish that all of our fans were as positive as you.

To Masoli and the whole team… Go get 'em!!

I was thrilled with last Sunday’s win - a great team win - and I look forward to what the coaches have in store with this team that won’t quit.

I am not a big Masoli fan but I will give him credit. He showed heart and determination in leading the team to victory. I was impressed with his running and that was a great pump fake for the TD.

Great thing about that game, he did not fumble  One thing for sure is that the Ottawa D will be keying on the QB draw, running attack so I hope Austin and company come up with a good plan to keep their D off balance or we could be in for a long game. I have hope for our guys but I know this is going to be a very hard game to win in Ottawa... but we have a shot and that's more than the Arhols have

Say what you will about Masoli, but the man sure is not an easy interview! Terse? Stoic? Mono-tone? Not sure of the right word, but my goodness he is a quiet one.

I'm not going to put Masoli on the pedestal on this one. He had a good game, and I hope he has two good games going forward, but if we come out of Ottawa or Winnipeg with a loss, I'm not going to scream and yell how he is the worst QB ever, and point out everything he did wrong. I'm also not going to forget the bout of fumbilitis that sent him to the 4th string to begin with.

Just go out there and have a good game.

This. 148 yards passing isn’t going to be enough to beat any of the 3 teams remaining.

There are various ways to win a football game and Hamilton have proven that as, a win is win.

If Masoli keeps his composure, hangs on to the ball, passes and runs like hell against Ottawa and keeps giving C.J. the ball than Masoli and the team deserve a win!

On Defence get Hank out of the game, throw him off his game, shut down the pass, if they take can out Hank, they take out the Redblacks.

GO CATS GO!!!!

At best I would say he was adequate. Which is the best I think we could hope for when Collaros went down. At least he doesn’t stand in the pocket for 5 - 6 seconds wondering who he should throw to and then get sacked like Mathews.

At least Mathews can throw the ball(accurately).

Problem is he takes way too long to throw and not all his passes are that accurate. IMHO.

“He” is Mathews. I presume.
Masoli, IMO, is more mobile, more decisive, more elusive and more confident. Mathews throws a harder ball.

I agree.

I've said it before and I will say it again. It doesn't matter if Mathews is better than Masoli or vice versa. Doesn't matter if neither are as good as Collaros. They each have their own skill-sets and right now, Masoli has the ball, so we really have no choice. Why chip away at the guy? He accepted to be the "next man up", has put himself on the line, and so far, has got us as far as the EDF. Let's get behind him and save the comparisons and appraisals for next year's training camp.

Alelluia Palmer. Well said. Support is what Ti-Cat fans need to exhibit now, not ridicule! Go Cats. :rockin:

me likey me likey :rockin:

You’re absolutely right. Masoli had a bad game or two last year which frustrated fans and was a bit shaky at times in the last Ottawa game but he has continued to show improvement, played VERY well in the second half on Sunday and helped to get us to the EDF. Austin, the other coaches and the players all have confidence in him and they ARE the ones who are working with Masoli on the field each day. They will build a game plan that plays to his strengths to give him every opportunity to be successful. The fans just have to cheer him - and the rest of the team on to victory! :cowboy:

I like Mathews and think he will be a good QB but it is his first year in the league and actually playing as a pro (not sitting on some team’s PR) so his ability to quickly read defenses is still developing. Masoli has been around the league longer and while he hasn’t played any more (or really as much) I think he might be just a bit faster at reading the defense, especially since he already had some playing time against Ottawa in the last game. Austin has alluded to using two QBs if need be - who #2 would be I don’t know. Haven’t heard whether Mathews is healthy enough so he may have been referring to Harris.

For those Masoli doubters, Watch this short video by Marsh, which shows how Masoli ran the zone read and variations off of it.
It is excellent!

Marsh does a great job of breaking it down
