Wish I could have said it as well as you have tcfan. I totally agree with your every comment on this one.
Seems like the ppl who want Porter to start seem to exaggerate how Glenn plays. Horrible throws, etc. The people who support Glenn seem more logical and less defensive and saying like it is. Porter has trouble finding WR's and runs too much. Glenn can find guys, and gets the ball out quicker. If Stala catches the out that hits both his hands for a first down we probably score and likely win the game. It was a defensive game, games like that happen especially with how good TO's defense is. Glenn should be the guy.
these are prechae stats this year rec:44 yards:486 avg:11.0 td:3. he is the leading reciver on the team and with more offensive weapons this year he may not be seeing the ball as much. plus i wouldn’t say theyve had an easy schedule considering they have played every team short of calgary.
They are both very capable the receivers have to start helping out a bit especially Prechae this guy has done very little.
Actually that is THE issue
I like both QBs but for some reason, I
m thinking they should start Porter, on a short leash. Give him one quarter to see how he does. If he is ineffective. Get Glenn in there right away. Porter should be healthy and ready to go.
I say start Porter against Calgary, and keep him in the whole first half. But if he comes out with a poor performance, put Glenn in and start Glenn for the rest of the season.
We need to win. The Argos are not that far behind us, and they will probably win the season series against us, meaning that we have to finish with more points in the standings than them.
The problem I face when suggesting we start one QB vs the other is that there is a good possibility that either will struggle. If you aren't prepared to show patience with which ever QB you choose you aren't likely to accomplish anything besides creating an even larger controversy. If Glenn starts and Porter plays more than Friday night BY DESIGN its probably the approach that makes the most sense if you don't believe in sticking with Porter should the offense sputter. I'd like to see Porter play with the entire play book for the next few weeks. No leash is a good leash, whether its Glenn or Porter. Once you make a decision on the QB for the day you need to sick with it IMO
