Edmonton - The Edmonton Eskimos have released five players inlcuding import defensive backs Kelly Malveaux, Lamar Herron and Bradley Robinson, import defensive tackle Jerome Haywood and import offensive lineman Garrick Jones.

A ten-year CFL veteran, Malveaux played 16 games for the Eskimos last season accumulating 50 tackles, four pass knock downs, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble return and one tackle for a loss.

Haywood joined the Eskimos in late September of last season to fill in a void left by an injured Dario Romero. The eight-year veteran started in the last five games of the season registering seven tackles, two sacks and one tackle for loss.

Herron joined the Eskimos as a rookie last year where he appeared in three games recording three tackles and one pass knockdown.

Over 15 games in two seasons Robinson accumulated 19 tackles, four interceptions, two pass knockdowns and one tackle for a loss.

Jones spent the entire 2009 season on the nine-game injured list. He started in 16 regular season games at left tackle in 2008.

bring in haywood for a lil compotion at camp if he makes great

Out of the 3 DB's there i'd take Malveaux OR Robinson for sure.Preferably Robinson.

3 Lion’s released as well, can see us pursuing Ian Smart for that KR spot.

Robinson and Smart are both worth looking into the way I see it.
