This donkey from of all places Texas has started a petition to sign against the new changes . He also wants all fans to wear all black for the remaining games as a form of protest . I guess then that he has never been to Hamilton for a game before because as we all know here in the Hammer , black is our favourite colour .

You know? This just popped into my head. I wonder if they made this announcement now knowing that Larry Thompson was unfortunately at the end of his life. He would be one of the āunaminousā owners, after allā¦
The guy who wrote that article is that Ottawa homer dude named Santino Filoso. So I wonder whatās next ? a follow up article by Ryan Ballantine the ultra homer from Calgary ? Nothing but pure unadulterated click bait from 3DN . Nothing more nothing less .
He lives overseas and reports on games he watches online.
Just sayingā¦
I donāt know if I can forgive the league for making me agree with Santino Filoso.
Thought so.![]()
CHCH tv reported that Amateur Football Ontario was basically blindsided by the announced CFL changes. Itās estimated to cost $2 million or more to make changes to football fields per the CFL changes (110 yards to 100; 20 yard end zones to 15; moving the goalposts, etc). Another ābodyā apparently not consulted or brought into discussions.
Heās originally from Ottawa . It says so at the bottom of the article under his pic and name .
I was just being cheeky.
My ultimate point is that heās someone that doesnāt buy tickets.
Iām not playing fairā¦I know.
Heās still a fan.
Thatās strange since the commissioner seems to be trying to appeal to Americans who not only donāt buy tickets but donāt give a damn about the CFL . The new commissioner Stewart Johnston attended Ashbury College, a private high school in Ottawa . Iām sure their football schedule was daunting . The Little Sisters of the Poor were tough while playing like the 85 Bears . ![]()
Except the box j boys. Cats can project 20% stadium wide beer sales loss if theyāre not there
I still disagree that heās trying to appeal to Americans. The 110 yard field was the absolute least of the things they donāt get about Canadian football. 3 downs, the waggle, 12 men, 65 yards wide are things that are far more mind boggling to American football fans. Living down here in Texas I have quite a few folks watching Canadian football and their reaction to the 55 yard line has been nothing more than thatās odd. Their reaction to the other things I mentioned has been to be much more curious, confused, etc.
Curious and confused does sound like Texas

Iād say, often quite a bit more than āa little leeway,ā enough to be the most obvious thing a basic newcomer, to watching our game, thought was crazy.
Canadians know whatās going on at the line of scrimmage . If Americans are confused who cares?
Apparently our new commissioner will study the implementation of 4 downs for the CFL in the future . ![]()
Where did he say he will study the implementation of 4 downs in the CFL in the future? He says the opposite here.
I believe the Team Owners have had some long discussions on what the responses would be when they finally bought off on the coming changes. So they will lose some life long fans if they really are who they say they are. The Owners are the ones who are putting their money where their mouth is so to speak, so are going to do what their research is showing them. But two changes like the 15 yard halo and benches on opposite sides of the field are just going back to what things were originally. I have always been in favour of going to a 100 yard field but without the goal post change we would be looking at more field goals, so the change of the end zones and moving the goal posts. They decided they canāt do one without doing the other. Time will tell if this is the correct move but with things the way they are the CFL is losing ground. So the owners are looking at the big picture and we as fans have to hope it works.
I just got around to reading the, rather long, Filoso article but Iām really happy I did get to it. Itās the best Iāve read, on the coming CFL changes, with his opinions well stated and backed up with good explanations. Iām impressed with the article and, also, with your post, Count_Floyd1.
The Commissioner in his press conference said there would be exciting news over the next few weeks and months. I think thereās a long game at play here. The past announcement was the appetizer, weāll get the main course hopefully by thanksgiving and possibly dessert at Grey Cup week. Iām not saying everyone will like what the guy has to say. Some people like steak and some people like hamburger.
CFL doesnāt have to consult with anyone. There are different rules in U-Sports now in comparison to the CFL. For example, in CFL the dribble punt only has to get over the line of scrimmage (not sure on the exact wording) and in U-Sports the ball has to travel 10 yards minimum. Just because the CFL does something that doesnāt mean that everyone else has to fall in line.
Side note: every year the BC high school playoffs are played in BC Place. BC plays American rules. I doubt it costs them 2 million dollars to make the changeover. There are probably cheaper ways to do it.
