Maciocia confident in Maas to lead Als into 2023

Jason Maas chuckled when asked if his time away from being a head coach had mellowed him.

“That’s a good question,” said Maas, who was hired as the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes in December. “I feel like I’ve grown as a person. If you’re not growing, you’re staying the same. I know there’s different ways of leading and those are things I’m looking forward to showcasing.”

It would be NEWS only if he said he wasn't.

I feel for the other four interviewees who were told they had a chance to coach the Als, when all along Macioca had his mind made up as soon as Maas was fired by the Riders. Not to sure how many other teams in the League, if they were in need of a HC, would have chosen Maas. I kind of liked him as a player, when he was Ricky's back-up in Ed and his short stint with the Als, but as a coach, no.
