Somehow I must have missed that LB Louie Richardson was a FA. Perhaps he was on the Practice Roster at the end of the season & thus available for the pickings by other teams. Anyways ... this from the Bombers ...
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has added non-import, and former University of Manitoba Bison defensive lineman/linebacker Louie Richardson. The club has also signed import running back Nic Grigsby.Richardson (6-4, 220, Manitoba, September 22, 1985, Vancouver, BC) has spent the last two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, recording seven special teams tackles in 2013. In 2012, his rookie CFL season, Richardson played in two games and recorded three special teams tackles.
That's too bad. Always liked Louie. A real high-motor, high energy type. Relentless/reckless abandon on kick coverage. Your prototypical wedge breaker.
I'm sure going back home, getting a chance to play more with Winnipeg was very enticing. Coach O'Shea will love this kid and Louie will love playing for Mike and he should get a real opportunity to be a special teams demon!
Congrats Louie ... Best wishes in the future.
