Lions trade national LB Williams to Argos for first round pick

big trade. former rookie of the year Jordan Williams to the Argos for a first round pick. Lions already have 2 national starters at linebacker. Lions get the first round pick back they lost to Als in the Adams deal.

Leos have Canada West all-star and conference Outstanding Defensive Player in LB Ryder Varga waiting in the wings. He was their 3rd round selection in last year's draft and will be coming to training camp in Kamloops. Ben Hladik really impressed at linebacker last year. He came on due to injury (Bo Lokombo) and played so well that they couldn't take him out (of the lineup).

Still, Williams is a proven star. According to Farhan Lalji, he wanted to play back East to be closer to business interests, so there's no way BC could have signed him after this season.

Didn't see this coming would be an under statement. Good player for sure and a National to boot. First thought would be Henoc is retiring, but not necessarily as Williams is still on his rookie contract. Next year he will be getting the big raise. Gives the Argos good depth at the MLB and Will positions. Argo are probably the one team who could give up their #1 and not be hurt that bad. Deep draft and some very good players will be available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Thumbs up,

i’m ok with this. Lions needed that first round pick and Williams was expendable with the excellent play of Hladak. Varga is awesome and he was just signed.

I thought the same thing, that this meant Muamba was retiring. Hope not, because he is a force!
