As surprises go, on a scale from 1 to 10, this was a -1…

Yes, best of luck to a hard-nosed running back who played a significant role in our 2023 Grey Cup season!

Thank you for those fantastic years in Montreal! I was on the edge of my seat every time you touched the ball. Great Grey Cup Touchdown! You probably would have carried those bombers on your back if you had to! Such great determination!
It was fun for my grandkids to meet you after the Calgary game this year! Thank you for taking the time to chat with us and sign our Als jerseys. You made some lifelong memories for some pretty excited kids (including me…the oldest kid)! Thank you, William! Good luck in BC. Please to easy on us Alouettes next time you play us! LOL!!

Calgary is going to be feeling left out - Stanback, Brown, Oulette, Olivera all signed to western clubs…

So what’s your take on the RB situation there? I like Antwi & Fletcher but are the Als maybe in on Carey or Morrow? Probably could get them at a good price.

I think the Als are consciously spending less at running back. Also, they are changing the body type at feature back from a power runner (Stanback) to more of a slashing Avon Cobourne type (Fletcher). They have a crop of new American RBs they’ve just signed, and almost all of them have a similar build to Fletcher.

Not to say that the Als might not be interested in someone like Morrow, but I don’t think it’s a huge priority for them.

Als signed Mike Weber who is similar mould to Stanback so he might have a shot as Als RB.
