Lions sign Justin McInnis to two-year extension

VANCOUVER — The BC Lions are keeping their leading receiver in black and orange.

National wide receiver Justin McInnis, a pending free agent on February 11, has signed a two-year contract extension, the team announced on Friday.

Looks like we may see what the receiver market looks like. Wonder what he got?

Now they can hope that he doesn’t go back to spending most of his time in the IL like he did in Saskatchewan before last year.

Sheesh. 250 is a lot for 1 receiver. Hope he lives up to the price tag for the lions sake.

Real good news! Looks like the offence is pretty well set. The defense line could still be tweeked. Some work to be done in the secondary.

Suspect that if Rourke didn’t renegotiate his wage BC couldn’t afford to resign McInnis. But also suspect that McInnis didn’t get the increase he was looking for, settling for less with a lot of really good receivers still on the table and the communication Window about to start tomorrow.

It states he got 250. How much would you pay a decent receiver, let alone an injury prone one??

Hopefully that’s 250k including bonuses etc. I can understand a receiver not liking that but I personally would have made sure it was a 5.5k per game bonus. :rofl: I’m sure with the demand, Rigmaiden’s hands were tied though.
