maybe missing out of the playoffs this season would be better for the Lions than playing as a CO team, and being eliminated by blow out in the frist round.
Should the Lions get into the post-season I would suggest conceding the playoff game instead of being humiliated and embarrass themselves and the Western Conference. Marty York suggested this in his column on the weekend. :rockin:
Think positive leos fans you could be the Argos!!!
Then why were western teams a combined 0-8 in Hamilton or Montreal this season?
And who from the west would be able to win in Montreal? B.C.?
Massdestruction wasn’t talking about the Als, he was talking about the beating the Lions will take next week if Hamilton sneaks them into the playoffs through the back door. We all saw what Cobb did to the Lions, and the Esks showed on Friday that their run defence is as pathetic now as it was then. And now, with no QB? Remember, we in Hamilton know what Casey Printers can do with his injured thumb. If Armour was sick to his stomach last week, wait 'til after that game!
I say we just give the cup to the Al’s and be done with it. They are truly the best team and are deserving of it this year.
FYI, BC is the only team that has put up decent games against the Al’s this year. Can’t argue with stats! At least they are one of the few teams that beat them this year. I would say good luck to the Ticats in the EF, but I don’t think luck is going to help you. Hell rider luck wouldn’t help you!
Well Turkey and rednwhite (mostly red lol) looks like you were both wrong. Internet tip of the week, saying "I think the lions are done" looks much less foolish than saying "the lions are done" especially when you are oh so wrong!
Fact of the matter is everyone wrote the lions off at the start with all the losses. They lost what had been to that point the best o line man, the hands down best player in the league, one of the best backs, one of the best special teams guys, a whole troop of very decent linebackers plus more. The lions have been one of the most successful teams in the west for years. Success puts you in the crosshairs of everyone who hasnt been as successful.
Lets look at some numbers shall we? Lions havent missed the playoffs since the early, early 90s. Every other team in the west has missed them. Since this decade started the lions have been western champs 4 times, 5 if you include 99. This is more than any other team in the west. The lions have won with 3 QBs and have a 4th that has proven capable of winning as well (if the D doesnt let him down a bit) most other teams would struggle with their 2nd.
Sure the lions havent played up to the standards we expect out west, but they are in the playoffs and if they can get a healthy QB and the O line and defense problems sorted out they will contend. Granted their chances are not as good this year as years past but they shouldnt be dismissed as easily as turkey and redwhite have.
Anyway Im going to enjoy at least 1 playoff game and have a beer or two (not that dog squirt pilsner) while I chuckle at the predictions that went oh so wrong
…you should re-read posts with your brain instead of your emotions, where did I say your team wouldn’t make the playoffs?..I said IF your team made the playoffs they wouldn’t stand a chance in Hamilton…your team has at least a week to repair itself to prove me wrong, until then please practice your reading and observation skills because being ‘correct’ is 9/10ths of a valid argument…
Ooh… Such a long streak. Please. You know how many sports teams have similar streaks? Come talk to me when the Lions make the Playoffs 34 years in a row. You guys have won the West four times, eh? And how many Grey Cups do you have to show for it? 3 appearances with 2 wins. Hmm. That’s the same as Edmonton. Calgary also has 2 Grey Cups.
But go ahead and keep thumping your chest like the Lions are the best team.
This comment is just hilariously stupid…
Thing for your last QB be become a hero, I wish the Lions the best of luck, Winnipeg was rubbish and had no running game, I hope BC doesn't make the same mistake.
Ok, so you want to start the insult thing telling me to use my brain, well this time im not going to bite but I will show you where you strayed from the path (this thread)
You notice the title of this thread? now read what you posted:

When you agree that the season is over does the season not include the playoffs? Thought so. And you didnt say anything about IF they made the playoffs in this thread…you know the one I responded to? Do you really think everyone has the time to hunt down every post from you in every thread? yeah right. So basically what you are saying is that maybe you contradict yourself in mulitiple threads so you always have a correct one to point to regardless of outcome? LOL just asking! So your whole response is tossed in the trash. You should be versed enough in forum use to not try and muddle things up with cross thread assumptions.
Of course I meant figuratively not literally the Lions being done. They will lose badly to the Hamilton without the services of a quarterback with Casey, Buck, Jarious and Travis out. They cannot win with Zac Championless. The big ? is who will be the back up qb. Like I said the lions season is done unfortunately. All they did was win a fruitless free trip to Hamilton.
:cowboy: In all honesty I am really disappointed because you want to see the best team on the field. As I have said with Casey at the helm the Lions were a dangerous team to play down the stretch. But, their defence let them down time and time and time and time and time and time again. And, they have to have the worst record in CFL history for 3rd and 1 failed attempts this season. Honestly, I cannot remember a more futile team at 3rd and 1. I like the rivalry with the Lions and all the west teams- it is too bad their qbacks got hurt and their defence let them down!!!!!! :cowboy:
OK chief, lets run around calling peoples predictions stupid. I say they can contend if they get some issues resolved, that is in no way saying they will win. When I talk about the lions they have as many cups in the west as anyone in the last decade and they have a longer playoff appearance streak and more western championships. My point is that they have been consistently more successful than the rest of the west for about a decade. That is no chest pounding, that is just a fact. Sure edmonton has 2 cups but how many missed playoffs and how many western champs? Calgary has been a bit better but still how many western champs and how many missed playoffs? You missed my point completely. My point is that the lions have been consistently in the mix every year for about a decade, the rest of the west has had their moments out of the mix.
Sorry if that bothers you but imo bringing up a 34 year streak has no bearing on my comments because the last decade wasnt the 80s etc lol. Trying to bring that into the equation is a stretch and pretty “stupid”. I think the mall is calling you
Maybe the Lions have been more successful this decade… but what does that mean? The Colts are the only team in NFL history to have 6 consecutive seasons with 12 or more wins… but how much do you think that matters to them? In that same stretch they have only 1 championship, and they’ve gone 0-1 3 times.
Pound your chest about this or that all you like… but you haven’t been more successful where it counts: Championships!!!
