…juries already?One good season doesn’t define a player IMO. It puts him in the “potential” category. Can you follow it up? Wilson, at this point, is high risk. It’s not his fault you can’t count on him - injuries happen. But you have to have players you CAN count on. Same goes for Jeffcoat. Giving him $10K IF he plays 12 games is a pretty strong statement from the Bomber brass of their expectations.

Talent is not defined by how many games you’ve missed.
When he played, he was an allstar calibre LBer. Like I said, I know you don’t know the player, but we do. Calling this his 6th season is a stretch. He was just signed and got into 1 game in 2017, and was a backup to Sanos Knox in 2018. Once JSK was injured, Wilson took over and never looked back. The injury lastyear was big, and who knows how he comes back. We will see.
Regardless, talking about KW in this thread is taking it offtopic, so all I will say about this.

To be clear, Blue, I’m not saying anything about talent. How “good” a player is to his team has to take into account how available he is. I don’t care if he is the most talented player on the team or league. That counts for nothing if he’s sitting on the bench.

So what are you basing his talent on? You can argue “what might have been” but “what is” are 2 different things. I still recall some Bomber fans here saying Collaros deserved MOP more than Rourke because Rourke’s volume of work only encompassed half a season. Makes sense. But let’s ignore that with Wilson. Don’t try & sell me on Wilson based upon 1 (non All-Star season) 4 years ago. He wasn’t a Simoni Lawrence or Larry Dean, to name 2, then - & he’s not Cameron Judge now. Strictly a Bomber perspective. I’m sure Kongo came much cheaper than Lemon. At some point you have to move on from the vets, WPG will have to move on from some HOFer vets likely by next year (Bryant, Bighill & Willie)

Bighill was getting increasingly whipped 'n beaten last year. He’s 35 with a ton of mileage and leadership can’t chase down guys w/ 4.5 speed. The biggest problem with Bighill is he’s increasingly whiffing on 1-armed tackles - that used to be his strength, knocking down runners while not directly in their path, now the ravages of time and usage have set into this formerly great ball-player.

Pretty much the same thing w/ Lemon. Combination of 1. Age, 2. Below average off-season conditioning & 3. Salary spelt his demise in BC. Where the heck did Kongbo come from?

I know Wpg would have salivated to get Kongbo back but they have little to no salary space even with their legal cheating of $99,998 over the cap. (allowed with penalty). No interest whatsoever in Lemon due to aforementioned conditioning, etc. problems. They have one guy who’s much better than Lemon and another who’s arguably a tiny bit better.
