Jarrett Brown QB out of WVU who the Lions have had on and off the team the last two seasons has signed with the AFL Spokane team. Spokane has been a sort of pipeline for imports to the Lions.
Small world. Brown will have to beat out Erik Meyer who was AFL MVP last year and former Peyton Winner QB from Eastern Washington. He preceded Nichols and BLM at Eastern Washington.
Brown has got all the physical skills 6'4" he can both run and pass. He will be just 27 next season this could be his time to join the Lions roster with Demarco gone.
Pierce will not be doing short yardage and Brown could also have a wildcat package with a new OC on the way.
The fact that he has signed with the AFL and in Spokane may not be a coincidence
The expansion Portland Thunder also have former Oregon starting QB Darron Thomas of BCS and Rose bowl Oregon teams.
Portland also aquired a well traveled Shane Boyd. Still just 31 and was McPhersons Back up in Tampa in 2013. Small world
