The refs were calling all cheesy plays against sask and bc, but bc played better, we are know tied for second, 2 points from first. that bc sask in bc game is going to be unbelievable you think you heard noise tonight ?
Disagree, Murray Clarke and his crew of incompetence idiots cost the fans an entertaining game. Bad calls go both ways, especially with this crew, but the real losers are the fans who tune in to watch a football game and instead are treated to Murray Clarke as the star of the game. This is why I turned off 3 games last weekend and 2 of this weekends games, including tonight’s, all before half time. When the officiating becomes the star of the game it kills the entertainment value and I tune in to watch the players work their magic not Murray Clarke pull magic out of his behind.
This is getting a bit ridiculous isn’t it. I come here after some really good football games this weekend to read and maybe participate in some good post game discussion and all we get is more whining and bitching about officiating from a bunch of people who likely couldn’t officiate their way out a wet paper bag. Complain away people, but I refuse to let that ruin my enjoyment of the games. I’m out here. Goodbye. :x
I don't think the refereeing was bad at all today nor do I think the Lions almost got robbed. And I don't say this because the Lions won the game. I was thoroughly entertained by both teams whether the Lions won or lost. I thought the call against Lions #95 for roughing the passer when SSK came up short on 3rd and 15 was a fair and reasonable call. I didn't like to see it happen but it was a fair call. And if some fans think SSK got robbed, the thieves were not the refs. There were only two culprits. They were the uprights Milo was trying to kick the ball between!
Oh please. “Boo-hoo, the officials are so hard done by”, “they make mistakes just like the players”, “it wasn’t the officials that lost the game it was (insert bad play, player, drive ect)”.
COP OUT!
Bad officiating is bad officiating regardless of whether it’s 1 call or 20 calls, whether it happens in a 1 point game or a 50 point blow out. It was a fair call and the goal posts lost the game is nothing more than justification for incompetent officiating. How long would you have your job if you made mistake after mistake after mistake every time you went to work? If you had an employee like that would you continue to employ them simply because “it didn’t affect the overall bottom line so hey, they’re only human”.
Apologists are just as bad as ones who blindly support these doltish twits just so they have supporters.
I thought the refereeing was quite reasonable this afternoon. You didn't. So what? Does that make me an apologist? In your mind I guess it does. Too bad. Get over it. And while you're doing that do some simple arithmetic. Had Milo gotten those two field goals that he hit the uprights on what would the score spread have been when the Lions got the ball with only 38 seconds left? It would have meant the difference between getting into field goal range and winning the game and having to score a TD to tie the game. I don't hear anyone blaming Milo. Nor do I hear anyone blaming the DB covering the Lion's receiver when it was 3rd and 10 and only seconds left on the clock. Come on now. If you want to go after the refs go ahead but I take exception when you start name calling. Try to keep your emotions in check.
I never blame the officials for winning/losing games. Players do that and there was ample opportunity for both teams to win the game. One area poor officials are consistent is at screwing both teams equally, but that doesn’t negate the fact that their incompetence is ruining games in this league. I think they should be held accountable for their poor performance regardless of the outcome and the degree of impact they had on the game.
