despite weak offensive numbers

The B.C. Lions are the CFL’s only unbeaten team
but you wouldn’t know it by
checking their offensive numbers.
They are second-last in first downs
and last in passing yards,
passes attempted and completed.
Last week the Lions beat Saskatchewan 42-12
but the defence made the difference
with seven turnovers.
Interception returns alone totalled 183 yards,
outgaining the 138 yards the Lions
managed to throw the ball.
On Thursday, the offensive challenge deepens
when the 3-0 Lions are without
starting quarterback Dave Dickenson
against the 0-3 Hamilton Tiger-Cats,
the only winless team in the league.
